في واقعة تشبه أحداث أفلام الإثارة النفسية و«الهوس القاتل»، عادت إلى أروقة الصحافة الدولية كواليس واحدة من أكثر قضايا الجريمة تعقيداً ودهاءً، وذلك عقب رحيل الضحية المظلوم في القصة، الذي عاش عقوداً يصارع صدمة الاتهام الظالم بجريمة قتل لم يرتكبها.
تعود جذور الحادثة إلى رفض أنسيل مارشال مدرب القيادة والرجل المتدين، المحاولات المستميتة من امرأة تُدعى رينيه سامبات لإقامة علاقة معه. لكن الرفض لم يزد المرأة إلا إصراراً وهوساً، فبدأت في مطاردته وإرسال طرود مسمومة ودُمى ممزقة إلى منزله، قبل أن تتخذ قراراً درامياً بالتخلص النهائي من العقبة الوحيدة أمامها: زوجته جانيت.
وبأسلوب سيكولوجي خطير، قامت الأم بتحريض وتجنيد ابنها المراهق (16 عاماً) للقيام بالمهمة الدموية بدلاً عنها. واقتحم الابن منزل الضحية بدم بارد ووجه لها 15 طعنة قاتلة، في محاولة لإتاحة الفرصة لوالدته حتى تتودد إلى الزوج المكلوم عقب الحادثة.
ولم تتوقف الدراما عند هذا الحد، بل امتدت إلى كواليس التحقيق الفاسد، إذ أقدم المحقق الرئيسي الذي كان يُلقب بـ«السيد قاتل» على سجن الزوج المكلوم فوراً وتلفيق التهمة له لمجرد رغبته في التقاعد محافظاً على سجله الخالي من القضايا غير المحلولة. وبعد إسقاط المحكمة للتهم لاحقاً لعدم وجود أدلة، تولى محقق جديد الملف ليكشف الخدعة ويقود الأم وابنها إلى السجن المؤبد.
والآن عقب رحيل الزوج أنسيل مارشال، خرجت زوجته الثانية «دلفين» عن صمتها حاثةً السلطات وشرطة «سكوتلاند يارد» على فتح تحقيق عاجل في الفضيحة الشرطية والتلفيق الذي تعرض له زوجها الراحل، مؤكدة أنها لن تتسامح مع الظلم الذي لاحقه طوال حياته، ولن تستريح حتى تُكشف كواليس التجاوزات الأمنية التي كادت تودي برجل بريء إلى السجن مدى الحياة. كما أن القاضي الذي نظر القضية سابقاً أوصى السلطات البريطانية بالتحقيق في كواليس هذا الفشل الأمني.

The roots of the incident trace back to Ansell Marshall, a driving instructor and religious man, who rejected the desperate attempts of a woman named Renee Sambat to establish a relationship with him. However, the rejection only fueled the woman's determination and obsession, prompting her to stalk him and send poisoned packages and torn dolls to his home, before making a dramatic decision to eliminate the only obstacle in her way: his wife, Janet.
In a dangerously psychological manner, the mother incited and recruited her teenage son (16 years old) to carry out the bloody task on her behalf. The son coldly invaded the victim's home and delivered 15 fatal stabs, attempting to create an opportunity for his mother to comfort the grieving husband after the incident.
The drama did not stop there; it extended to the corrupt investigation's behind-the-scenes, as the lead investigator, who was nicknamed "Mr. Killer," immediately imprisoned the grieving husband and fabricated charges against him simply because he wanted to retire while maintaining his record free of unsolved cases. After the court later dismissed the charges due to lack of evidence, a new investigator took over the case to uncover the deception and lead the mother and son to life imprisonment.
Now, following the passing of husband Ansell Marshall, his second wife "Delphine" has broken her silence, urging the authorities and Scotland Yard to launch an urgent investigation into the police scandal and the framing that her late husband faced, asserting that she will not tolerate the injustice that followed him throughout his life and will not rest until the behind-the-scenes of the security breaches that nearly sent an innocent man to prison for life are revealed.
