تسبب ثوران بركان «أناك كراكاتاو» في إندونيسيا في تعليق حركة الطيران بمطار سوكارنو هاتا الدولي في جاكرتا لساعات، ما أثر على أكثر من 200 رحلة جوية، بالتزامن مع انتشار الرماد البركاني في مناطق من جزيرتي جاوة وسومطرة وتعطل بعض الأنشطة الدراسية.
تعليق عمليات الطيران
وأفادت وزارة النقل الإندونيسية، في بيان اليوم (الأحد)، بأن تعليق عمليات الطيران في المطار، الذي يعد الأكثر ازدحاماً في البلاد، استمر لساعات بعد استمرار رصد الرماد البركاني في محيطه.
وأوضحت أن التعليق أثر على 209 رحلات جوية، من بينها رحلات دولية، مشيرة إلى أن نشاط البركان بدأ في وقت متأخر من أول أمس (الجمعة)، قبل رصد الرماد في المطار خلال الساعات الأولى من صباح اليوم.
سحب رماد تصل إلى ارتفاع 15 ألف متر
من جانبها، ذكرت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية الإندونيسية أن الرماد البركاني رُصد على ارتفاع يصل إلى نحو ستة آلاف متر في الاتجاه الممتد نحو جزيرة جاوة، فيما بلغ ارتفاع سحابة أخرى نحو 15 ألف متر باتجاه سومطرة وأجزاء من إقليم بانتن.
تحذيرات للسكان من آثار الرماد
ودعت الوكالة الوطنية لتخفيف آثار الكوارث السكان إلى توخي الحذر أثناء تساقط الرماد، وتقليل الأنشطة الخارجية، واستخدام الكمامات ووسائل حماية العينين، إضافة إلى تغطية مصادر المياه والحذر أثناء القيادة بسبب احتمال انخفاض مستوى الرؤية.
وذكرت تقارير إعلامية محلية أن عدداً من المدارس ألغى أنشطته أمس (السبت)، بعدما عانى طلاب وسكان من تهيج في العينين بسبب الرماد، كما ألغى عدد من الصيادين رحلاتهم البحرية نتيجة النشاط البركاني.
التحذير عند المستوى الثالث
وأبقت السلطات مستوى التحذير من بركان «أناك كراكاتاو» عند الدرجة الثالثة، مع منع السكان والزوار من الاقتراب لمسافة ثلاثة كيلومترات من فوهته النشطة.
ولم ترد تقارير عن وقوع إصابات أو صدور أوامر بالإجلاء، فيما أكدت السلطات المختصة عدم وجود مؤشرات على خطر وشيك لحدوث موجات تسونامي نتيجة النشاط البركاني.
The eruption of the "Anak Krakatau" volcano in Indonesia caused the suspension of air traffic at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta for hours, affecting more than 200 flights, coinciding with the spread of volcanic ash in areas of the islands of Java and Sumatra and the disruption of some educational activities.
Suspension of Flight Operations
The Indonesian Ministry of Transportation reported in a statement today (Sunday) that the suspension of flight operations at the airport, which is the busiest in the country, lasted for hours after volcanic ash continued to be monitored in its vicinity.
It clarified that the suspension affected 209 flights, including international flights, noting that the volcanic activity began late on the day before yesterday (Friday), before ash was detected at the airport during the early hours of today.
Ash Clouds Reaching 15,000 Meters
For its part, the Indonesian Meteorology Agency reported that volcanic ash was detected at an altitude of about six thousand meters in the direction extending towards Java Island, while another cloud reached an altitude of about 15,000 meters towards Sumatra and parts of Banten Province.
Warnings to Residents About Ash Effects
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency urged residents to exercise caution during ash fall, reduce outdoor activities, and use masks and eye protection, in addition to covering water sources and being cautious while driving due to the possibility of reduced visibility.
Local media reports indicated that several schools canceled their activities yesterday (Saturday), after students and residents suffered from eye irritation due to the ash, and several fishermen canceled their sea trips as a result of the volcanic activity.
Warning at Level Three
The authorities maintained the warning level for the "Anak Krakatau" volcano at level three, prohibiting residents and visitors from approaching within three kilometers of its active crater.
No reports of injuries or evacuation orders have been received, while the relevant authorities confirmed that there are no indications of an imminent risk of tsunami waves resulting from the volcanic activity.
