A hurricane that struck southwestern France caused damage to around 300 homes in the village of "Pomas," and injured 41 people, 15 of whom were taken to the hospital, according to French authorities.
Several areas experienced power outages and disruptions in train, road, and flight services, amid the declaration of an orange alert in large parts of the region.
The French authorities imposed an orange alert due to storms in wide areas of the southwest of the country, where power outages and transport disruptions were recorded.
The village of "Pomas," which has a population of about a thousand, was one of the most affected areas, as the hurricane impacted around 300 homes and ripped off roofs from several of them.
The French national meteorological agency recorded winds reaching speeds of 117 kilometers per hour in the neighboring village of Arquette-en-Val.
