تحوّل حمّام أحد المنازل في مدينة وومبي بولاية كوينزلاند إلى مسرح فوضى غير متوقعة بعدما تسلل إليه ثعبان ضخم من نوع (ثعبان السجاد)، وهو من الأنواع الشائعة وغير السامة في المنطقة.
وقد فوجئ سكان المنزل بالزاحف وقد اتخذ من الحمّام ملاذًا مؤقتًا، قبل أن يبدأ بالتجول بين الرفوف ويسقط عدداً من العبوات والقطع الزجاجية، لتناثر الشظايا على الأرض في مشهد أربك أصحاب المنزل.
ورصد صائد الثعابين المحلي دان المشهد بكاميرته قبل أن يتدخل لإخراج الثعبان بأمان، إذ أظهر الفيديو؛ الذي نشرته قناة (ABC News) الزاحف ملتفًا بين زجاجات الشامبو وعبوات أعواد القطن ومستلزمات النظافة الشخصية وسط الفوضى التي أحدثها. وتمكّن دان من السيطرة على الثعبان وإخراجه دون تسجيل أي إصابات أو أضرار إضافية.
ورغم أن ظهور الثعابين في المناطق السكنية يُعد أمراً مألوفاً في بعض أجزاء كوينزلاند، فإن العثور على ثعبان بهذا الحجم داخل حمّام منزل، وما خلّفه من فوضى، يبقى تجربة غير معتادة للسكان الذين يعيشون بالقرب من المناطق الحرجية التي تشكّل بيئة طبيعية لهذه الزواحف.
A bathroom in a house in Woombye, Queensland, turned into a scene of unexpected chaos after a massive carpet snake slithered in, which is a common and non-venomous species in the area.
The residents of the house were surprised to find the reptile had taken refuge in the bathroom before it began to wander among the shelves, knocking over several bottles and glass items, scattering shards across the floor in a scene that bewildered the homeowners.
Local snake catcher Dan captured the scene on camera before intervening to safely remove the snake. The video, which was published by ABC News, showed the snake coiled among shampoo bottles, cotton swab containers, and personal hygiene supplies amidst the chaos it had caused. Dan was able to control the snake and remove it without any injuries or additional damage.
Although the appearance of snakes in residential areas is considered common in some parts of Queensland, finding a snake of this size inside a home's bathroom, along with the mess it left behind, remains an unusual experience for residents living near bushland that serves as a natural habitat for these reptiles.
