حذّرت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والدواء من الاعتماد على الخواتم والأساور الذكية في تشخيص الأمراض أو متابعتها، مؤكدة أن دورها يقتصر على المساعدة في متابعة بعض المؤشرات الحيوية.
وأوضحت الغذاء والدواء عبر حسابها على منصة X، أن الخواتم والأساور الذكية يمكن أن تساعد مستخدميها على متابعة معدل نبضات القلب، ومستوى تشبع الدم بالأكسجين، إضافة إلى النوم والنشاط وعدد الخطوات.
ونصحت «الغذاء والدواء» بعدم استخدام هذه الأجهزة لمراقبة الحالة الطبية، وتجنّب استخدامها بديلاً عن الجهاز الطبي المرخّص أو رأي الطبيب.
وشدّدت على ضرورة استشارة الطبيب أو المختص الصحي فور ظهور قراءات غير طبيعية أو الشعور بأي أعراض.
The General Authority for Food and Drug Administration has warned against relying on smart rings and bracelets for diagnosing or monitoring diseases, emphasizing that their role is limited to assisting in tracking certain vital signs.
The Food and Drug Administration clarified through its account on platform X that smart rings and bracelets can help users monitor their heart rate, blood oxygen saturation levels, in addition to sleep, activity, and step count.
The "Food and Drug Administration" advised against using these devices to monitor medical conditions and to avoid using them as a substitute for licensed medical devices or a doctor's opinion.
It stressed the importance of consulting a doctor or health specialist immediately upon noticing any abnormal readings or experiencing any symptoms.
