لقي ثمانية أشخاص مصرعهم في الأمطار الغزيرة التي اجتاحت منذ يوم (الخميس) واليوم (الجمعة) شرقي اليابان.
وأفادت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية في اليابان في بيان أنها أصدرت أعلى تحذير من الأمطار الغزيرة (المستوى 5) في أكثر من ثلث البلديات بمحافظة تشيبا القريبة من العاصمة طوكيو.
وأضافت أنه تم تحذير المواطنين في مدينتي تشيبا وإيتشيكاوا وبلدات أخرى لاتخاذ إجراءات السلامة الفورية، بالتزامن مع وقوع فيضانات واسعة النطاق في الطرق العامة.
وأصدرت الوكالة تحذيراً من انهيارات أرضية (المستوى 5) لعدد من البلدات في المحافظة، شملت تشيبا ومجاورتها إيتشيهارا، قبل أن يتم تخفيض مستوى جميع التحذيرات اليوم.
Eight people have died in the heavy rains that have swept eastern Japan since Thursday and today (Friday).
The Japan Meteorological Agency stated in a report that it issued the highest warning for heavy rain (level 5) in more than a third of the municipalities in Chiba Prefecture, which is near the capital Tokyo.
It added that citizens in the cities of Chiba and Ichikawa, as well as other towns, were warned to take immediate safety measures, coinciding with widespread flooding on public roads.
The agency issued a landslide warning (level 5) for several towns in the prefecture, including Chiba and its neighboring Ichihara, before all warnings were downgraded today.
