في مشهد درامي صادم هز العاصمة العراقية، تحول منزل عائلي في منطقة الزعفرانية إلى مسرح لجريمة مروعة دبرها شقيقان، قبل أن تتحول إلى واحدة من أسرع قضايا كشف الغموض في بغداد.
بدأت الحكاية ببلاغ تلقته الأجهزة الأمنية عن وقوع حادثة انتحار داخل أحد المنازل. هرعت دوريات النجدة ومفارز مكافحة الإجرام إلى المكان، ليقابلهم شقيقا الضحية ببرود أعصاب غريب، محاولين إقناع المحققين بأن أخاهما أقدم على إنهاء حياته بنفسه نتيجة أزمة نفسية.
لكن المحققين وفريق الأدلة الجنائية لم يكتفوا بالرواية الظاهرية، فالملابسات في مسرح الجريمة لم تكن متطابقة مع قصة «الانتحار»، وبدأت التفاصيل تتكشف تدريجياً لتدين الشقيقين وتكشف زيف ادعاءاتهما.
لم تصمد كذبة الشقيقين طويلاً، وتحت ضغط الأدلة الدقيقة والتناقضات الواضحة في الأقوال، انهار الجانيان واعترفا بارتكاب جريمة قتل شقيقهما على خلفية خلاف عائلي احتدم بينهم، ليحاولا بعدها طمس المعالم واختلاق قصة الانتحار لتضليل العدالة.
وختمت الجهات الأمنية تفاصيل الواقعة بإعلان ضبط سلاح الجريمة المستخدَم، وإيداع الشقيقين التوقيف تمهيداً لاتخاذ كافة الإجراءات القانونية بحقهما وإحالتهما إلى القضاء لينالا الجزاء العادل على فعلتهما.

The story began with a report received by the security forces about a suicide incident inside one of the houses. Emergency patrols and criminal investigation units rushed to the scene, where they were met by the victim's brothers with an oddly calm demeanor, trying to convince the investigators that their brother had taken his own life due to a psychological crisis.
However, the investigators and the forensic evidence team were not satisfied with the apparent narrative, as the circumstances at the crime scene did not align with the "suicide" story, and details began to gradually emerge that implicated the brothers and revealed the falsehood of their claims.
The brothers' lie did not hold up for long, and under the pressure of precise evidence and clear contradictions in their statements, the perpetrators broke down and confessed to murdering their brother over a family dispute that had escalated between them, after which they attempted to cover up the evidence and fabricate a suicide story to mislead justice.
The security authorities concluded the details of the incident by announcing the seizure of the weapon used in the crime and placing the brothers in custody in preparation for taking all legal actions against them and referring them to the judiciary to receive just punishment for their actions.
