حين يرتدي الشباب عباءة البطولة المطلقة، تصبح التضحية أنبل ما يمكن أن يجود به الإنسان، ولو كان الثمن روحه؛ ففي مشهد يدمي القلوب على شواطئ الإسكندرية، تحولت لحظات شجاعة نادرة إلى فاجعة مؤلمة خطفت أنفاس المتابعين، بعدما غادر الدنيا الشاب زياد محمد أحمد محمود، ذو الـ18 عاماً، تاركاً خلفه سيرة بطولية ستظل الألسنة تخلدها طويلاً.
بدأت القصة حين لاحظ زياد مجموعة من الأشخاص يصارعون الموت وسط أمواج متلاطمة جرفتهم بعيداً عن الساحل في منطقة البيطاش بحي العجمي. ودون أدنى تردد أو تفكير في سلامته الشخصية، اندفع الشاب الشجاع نحو مياه البحر العاتية، ونجح بمهارة وبسالة في إخراجهم واحداً تلو الآخر إلى بر الأمان، محققاً إنجازاً استثنائياً بإنقاذ ستة أرواح من غدر الأمواج. لكن قدره المحتوم كان بانتظاره؛ فبعد أن أدى مهمته الإنسانية على أكمل وجه، جرفته التيارات القوية بعيداً، ليفشل في العودة ويقضي نحبه غرقاً في أعماق البحر.
وفور تلقي البلاغ، هرعت الأجهزة الأمنية وقوات الإنقاذ إلى موقع الحادث لاتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة، ونُقل جثمان الشاب إلى المشرحة، في وقت نعت الإدارة المركزية للسياحة والمصايف بالإسكندرية ابن منطقة الدخيلة الراحل، موضحة أن الحادث وقع على شاطئ مغلق وغير مؤهل للسباحة.

The story began when Ziad noticed a group of people struggling against death amidst crashing waves that had swept them far from the shore in the Beitash area of the Al-Ajami neighborhood. Without the slightest hesitation or concern for his own safety, the brave young man rushed into the raging sea, skillfully and valiantly managing to rescue them one by one to safety, achieving an extraordinary feat by saving six lives from the treachery of the waves. But his fated destiny awaited him; after completing his humanitarian mission to perfection, he was swept away by the strong currents, failing to return and ultimately drowning in the depths of the sea.
As soon as the report was received, security forces and rescue teams rushed to the scene to take the necessary measures, and the young man's body was transferred to the morgue, while the Central Administration of Tourism and Resorts in Alexandria mourned the late son of the Dekheila area, clarifying that the incident occurred on a closed beach that was not suitable for swimming.
