أعلنت السلطات الفرنسية اليوم السيطرة على أكبر حريق غابات تشهده البلاد خلال الموسم الحالي، بالقرب من مدينة بوردو المطلة على المحيط الأطلسي، مع استمرار وجود بؤر نشطة ومناطق ساخنة تستلزم المراقبة.
وأوضح وزير الداخلية الفرنسي لوران نونيز أن تحسن الوضع سيسمح لأكثر من 10 آلاف شخص إضافي بالعودة إلى منازلهم، مشيراً إلى أن حرائق الغابات أتت منذ بداية العام على نحو 119 ألف هكتار في أنحاء فرنسا.
وغطى الحريق الذي اندلع غرب بوردو نحو 42 ألف هكتار، فيما أُجلي بسببه نحو 224 ألف شخص، سمحت السلطات لنحو 198 ألفاً منهم بالعودة إلى منازلهم.
The French authorities announced today that they have gained control over the largest wildfire the country has seen this season, near the city of Bordeaux on the Atlantic coast, although active hotspots still require monitoring.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez explained that the improvement in the situation will allow more than 10,000 additional people to return to their homes, noting that wildfires have consumed approximately 119,000 hectares across France since the beginning of the year.
The fire that broke out west of Bordeaux covered about 42,000 hectares, and approximately 224,000 people were evacuated due to it, with authorities allowing around 198,000 of them to return to their homes.
