The experience of Saudi media personality Taghreed Al-Huwaish seems more like a cumulative journey, shaped through study, practice, and movement across various professional spaces, until she crafted a presence that transcends the traditional image of a program host. Appearing in front of the camera represents the visible part of her experience, while behind it stands an academic background and expertise in content creation and dialogue management.
The outlines of this journey began in Canada, where she studied communication and media, before obtaining her master's degree in media from Concordia University. There, she ventured into radio work, a station that contributed to building her relationship with voice and word, and provided her with tools to engage with the audience away from the influence of visuals.
With her move to the UAE, her experience shifted towards television more clearly, as she worked as a host and producer at "Sky News Arabia." The combination of hosting and producing gave her a broader understanding of media work; a presenter involved in content creation usually possesses a greater ability to read its details, manage its rhythm, and comprehend what happens behind the camera.
Al-Huwaish later solidified her presence as the main host of the program "MBC in a Week," which navigates through political, social, cultural, artistic, and sports files. This diverse space placed her in a weekly test that requires flexibility in transitioning between topics and the ability to engage with personalities from different backgrounds, without losing the calmness of performance or clarity of questioning.
She also expanded her experience by presenting official events and managing sessions and seminars in both Arabic and English, a facet that reveals her ability to interact with a live audience, where presence, quick wit, and managing the rhythm of dialogue become essential elements in the success of the presenter.
Her experience in comedic works, including "Studio 21," "Studio 22," and "Prohibited to Roam," appeared as an extension of her desire to test her tools outside the news frame and traditional dialogue. These participations did not turn into a substitute for her media career, but rather added a different performance space to it.
Outside the screen, the sea occupies an authentic aspect of Al-Huwaish's personality; she holds certifications in scuba diving and free diving, is a board member of the Saudi Federation for Marine Sports and Diving, and an ambassador for diving with the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). Between the studio and the depths of the sea, her professional image is formed: a media personality who builds her presence quietly, granting her experience a breadth based on knowledge, practice, and diverse interests.
