ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الأمطار الموسمية والفيضانات في باكستان إلى 43 قتيلاً، إضافة إلى 177 مصاباً، جراء حوادث مرتبطة بالأمطار الغزيرة التي شهدتها عدة مناطق من البلاد، وفقاً لبيانات صادرة عن هيئات إدارة الكوارث.
وأفادت هيئة إدارة الكوارث في إقليم البنجاب بأن الأمطار الموسمية أودت بحياة 21 شخصاً وأصيب على إثرها 154 آخرون منذ بداية الموسم، مشيرة إلى عدم تسجيل أي وفيات ناجمة عن جرف السيول أو احتجاز أشخاص في مجاري المياه.
وحذرت الهيئة في بيان من احتمال حدوث فيضانات حضرية وسيول مفاجئة مع استمرار هطول الأمطار.
وفي إقليم خيبر بختونخوا، أعلنت هيئة إدارة الكوارث مقتل 22 شخصاً وإصابة 23 آخرين نتيجة انهيار أسقف وجدران المنازل، إضافة إلى حوادث جرفتها السيول في عدد من المناطق.
وأوضحت الهيئة أن الأمطار تسببت في تضرر 37 منزلاً، منها 8 منازل دُمرت بالكامل، و29 تعرضت لأضرار جزئية.
The toll of victims from the seasonal rains and floods in Pakistan has risen to 43 dead, in addition to 177 injured, due to incidents related to the heavy rains that have affected several regions of the country, according to data released by disaster management authorities.
The disaster management authority in Punjab province reported that the seasonal rains have claimed the lives of 21 people and injured 154 others since the beginning of the season, noting that no deaths have been recorded due to flash floods or people being trapped in waterways.
The authority warned in a statement of the possibility of urban flooding and sudden flash floods as the rains continue.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the disaster management authority announced that 22 people have died and 23 others have been injured as a result of the collapse of roofs and walls of houses, in addition to incidents caused by flash floods in several areas.
The authority clarified that the rains have caused damage to 37 houses, of which 8 were completely destroyed, and 29 sustained partial damage.
