في حقبة «حرب الظلال» الرقمية، لم يعد جاسوس المخابرات بحاجة لمعطف طويل ونظارات مظلمة للتسلل خلف خطوط العدو، بل يكفيه كود برمجّي خبيث يخترق كاميرا مراقبة معلقة على جدار منزل أو متجر بقالة صغير في قرية أوروبية هادئة، ليتحول جهاز بسيط يملكه مواطن عادي إلى «عين استخباراتية» تبث مباشرة إلى موسكو!
هذا السيناريو الصادم تحول إلى حقيقة مرعبة هزت العواصم الأوروبية، دافعة هولندا إلى اتخاذ خطوة دبلوماسية نارية باستدعاء السفير الروسي، تزامناً مع استنفار أمني وعقوبات بريطانية وأوروبية غير مسبوقة لمحاصرة واحدة من أذكى وأخطر عمليات التجسس السيبراني.
فخ غير متوقع
فجّر وزير الخارجية الهولندي توم بيرندسن المفاجأة الصادمة التي كشفت الأسلوب الاستخباراتي الماكر الذي اتبعته المجموعات المدعومة من موسكو.
لم يستهدف الهاكرز الروس الأنظمة الدفاعية الحصينة لحلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) بشكل مباشر هذه المرة، بل التفوا حولها بذكاء مرعب:
- صيد الكاميرات الخاصة: تم اختراق كاميرات مراقبة مملوكة لأفراد عاديين وشركات خاصة على الطرقات السريعة والممرات الحيوية.

This time, Russian hackers did not directly target NATO's fortified defense systems; instead, they cleverly circumvented them:
- Private Camera Hunting: Surveillance cameras owned by ordinary individuals and private companies on highways and vital corridors were hacked.
