في زمن صعدت فيه عملة «بيتكوين» إلى السماء وصنعت ثروات من لا شيء، ظهرت امرأة بلغارية تُدعى روجا إغناتوفا لتبيع للعالم حلم الثراء القادم. أطلقت على مشروعها اسم «وان كوين»، وسرعان ما تحولت من مجرد فكرة إلى واحدة من أضخم عمليات الاحتيال المالي في التاريخ، مستحوذة على مليارات الدولارات من ملايين الضحايا حول العالم.
وروت روجا، التي لُقبت لاحقاً بـ «ملكة الكريبتو»، مع شريكها سيباستيان غرينوود، قصة ساحرة أذهلت المستثمرين. ووصفت روجا العملة بأنها «المنافس الشرس والقادم للقضاء على بيتكوين». واعتمد الثنائي على إستراتيجية جهنمية:
- التسويق الشبكي (متعدد المستويات): تحويل المستثمرين أنفسهم إلى مسوقين يجلبون أصدقاءهم وعائلاتهم.
- سلاح العلاقات الاجتماعية: استغلال الثقة العمياء بين الأقارب لتوسيع شبكة الضحايا.
- الوهم بالثراء السريع: اللعب على وتر الخوف من ضياع الفرصة.
تغلغلت الشبكة في عشرات الدول، وتدفقت أموال الضحايا كالأنهار، وظن الجميع أنهم يمتلكون ثروة رقمية للمستقبل، لكن الحقيقة كانت صادمة ومظلمة للغاية.
وجاءت نقطة التحول عندما قررت الشركة التوسع تقنياً، وتواصلت مع خبير البرمجة المتخصص في تقنيات سلسلة الكتل (البلوك تشين)، بيورن بيوركه، وعرضت عليه منصب كبير التقنيين براتب خيالي.
وخلال مقابلات العمل، طرح بيوركه أسئلة تقنية بديهية، لتصعقه الإجابة التي لم يكن يتخيلها: فالشركة لا تمتلك أصلاً شبكة «بلوك تشين»!
تقنية البلوك تشين هي السجل الرقمي اللامركزي الآمن والشفاف الذي دونه لا يمكن لأي عملة مشفرة (مثل بيتكوين) أن توجد أو تعمل.
وكانت المفاجأة أن «ملكة الكريبتو» أطلقت العملة وباعتها للملايين، ثم بدأت تبحث عن مبرمج يبني لها الشبكة من الصفر بعد سنوات من جمع الأموال، لتغطية الخديعة!
وبطبيعة الحال، رفض بيوركه العرض المغري مدفوعاً بضميره المهني، وبدأ تحقيقاً تقنياً مستقلاً لكشف المستور. وأجرى مئات الاختبارات الرقمية على المعاملات التي كانت تتم داخل منصة «وان كوين».
وكانت النتيجة الفاضحة: فالمعاملات لم تكن تظهر في أي سجل حقيقي أو شبكة مشفرة. والنظام بأكمله لم يكن سوى قاعدة بيانات تقليدية عادية (مثل تلك المستخدمة في المواقع البسيطة)، تم تصميمها بدهاء لتحاكي شكل البلوك تشين وتوهم المستخدمين بوجود حركات مالية، بينما هي في الواقع مجرد أرقام وهمية على شاشة.
ومع تصاعد الشكوك وظهور الأدلة التقنية التي فضحت زيف العملة، لم تستسلم إدارة «وان كوين». وهاجم مسؤولو الشركة المنتقدين واعتبروهم «أعداء النجاح ومروجي شائعات»، وكثفوا الحملات الدعائية.
وفي محاولة مستميتة لإثبات أن العملة حقيقية، أطلقوا منصة تجارية تُدعى «ديل شيكر»، زاعمين أن المشتركين يمكنهم استخدام «وان كوين» لشراء المنتجات والخدمات الواقعية.
لكن الفخ انكشف سريعاً، حيث كانت المنصة تشترط على المشترين دفع جزء من قيمة أي عملية شراء بـ«العملة الحقيقية» (اليورو). هذا الشرط الفاضح أثبت للعالم أن العملة المزعومة بلا أي قيمة فعلية، وأن الإمبراطورية بأكملها كانت مجرد «مخطط بونزي» احتيالي يعتمد فقط على تدفق أموال الضحايا الجدد ليظل على قيد الحياة، قبل أن تختفي روجا إغناتوفا وتتبخر معها مليارات الدولارات، تاركة خلفها أكبر وعاء للأوهام الرقمية في التاريخ.
In an era when the "Bitcoin" currency soared to the sky and created wealth from nothing, a Bulgarian woman named Ruja Ignatova emerged to sell the world the dream of upcoming riches. She named her project "OneCoin," and it quickly transformed from just an idea into one of the largest financial frauds in history, seizing billions of dollars from millions of victims around the world.
Ruja, who was later dubbed the "Crypto Queen," along with her partner Sebastian Greenwood, spun a captivating story that mesmerized investors. Ruja described the currency as "the fierce and upcoming competitor to eliminate Bitcoin." The duo relied on a diabolical strategy:
- Network marketing (multi-level): turning investors themselves into marketers who bring in their friends and families.
- The weapon of social relationships: exploiting blind trust among relatives to expand the network of victims.
- The illusion of quick wealth: playing on the fear of missing out on an opportunity.
The network infiltrated dozens of countries, and the money from victims flowed like rivers, with everyone believing they owned a digital fortune for the future, but the truth was shocking and extremely dark.
The turning point came when the company decided to expand technically and reached out to programming expert Bjorn Bjerke, who specialized in blockchain technologies, offering him a position as chief technologist with an extravagant salary.
During the job interviews, Bjerke asked intuitive technical questions, only to be stunned by the answer he could not have imagined: the company did not actually have a "blockchain" network!
The blockchain technology is the secure and transparent decentralized digital ledger without which no cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin) can exist or operate.
To his surprise, the "Crypto Queen" had launched the currency and sold it to millions, then began searching for a programmer to build the network from scratch after years of raising funds to cover the deception!
Naturally, Bjerke declined the tempting offer driven by his professional conscience and began an independent technical investigation to uncover the truth. He conducted hundreds of digital tests on the transactions that were taking place within the "OneCoin" platform.
The damning result: the transactions did not appear in any real ledger or encrypted network. The entire system was nothing but a regular traditional database (like those used in simple websites), cleverly designed to mimic the appearance of blockchain and deceive users into believing there were financial movements, while in reality, they were just fictitious numbers on a screen.
As suspicions grew and technical evidence exposed the falsehood of the currency, the "OneCoin" management did not give up. Company officials attacked the critics, labeling them as "enemies of success and rumor mongers," and intensified their promotional campaigns.
In a desperate attempt to prove that the currency was real, they launched a trading platform called "Deal Shaker," claiming that subscribers could use "OneCoin" to purchase real products and services.
But the trap was quickly revealed, as the platform required buyers to pay part of the value of any purchase with "real currency" (euros). This blatant condition proved to the world that the alleged currency had no actual value and that the entire empire was merely a fraudulent "Ponzi scheme" relying solely on the influx of funds from new victims to stay alive, before Ruja Ignatova disappeared and took billions of dollars with her, leaving behind the largest vessel of digital illusions in history.
