تحولت شوارع مدينة «ريمشايد» الهادئة بغرب ألمانيا إلى مسرح لجريمة ومطاردة هوليودية حبست أنفاس السكان، بعدما انتهت مواجهة شرسة بين رجل وأفراد الأمن بإطلاق الرصاص الحي الذي أنهى حياته في ثوانٍ، بسبب مفاجأة غير متوقعة صدمت عناصر الدورية.
تعود تفاصيل القصة إلى بلاغ عادي عن رجل يبلغ من العمر 42 عاماً يهدد فتاتين في الشارع، لكن سيناريو الاعتقال انحرف سريعاً نحو مسار دموي ومروع.

استدعت الشرطة تعزيزات مكثفة وبدأت عملية تمشيط واسعة حتى حاصرت المتهم بعد وقت قصير. ولتجنب إراقة الدماء، استخدم الضباط المسدس الصاعق الكهربائي لشل حركته، لكن الضربة أخطأت هدفها ولم تؤثر فيه. وهنا تحول الرجل إلى قنبلة موقوتة، وبدأ برشق أفراد الأمن بأدوات حادة وصلبة كانت بحوزته مستهدفاً رؤوسهم بضربات قاتلة بحسب تصريحات الشرطة الألمانية.
وأمام هذا الخطر الداهم وشعور الضباط بأن حياتهم باتت على المحك، سحب أحد الضباط سلاحه وأطلق الرصاص الحي مباشرة نحو جسد الرجل. ورغم محاولات الإسعاف الطبي المكثفة لإنعاشه في موقع الحادثة، إلا أنه لفظ أنفاسه الأخيرة في توّها.

The details of the story date back to a routine report about a 42-year-old man threatening two girls in the street, but the arrest scenario quickly veered into a bloody and horrific path.
As soon as the police patrol arrived to apprehend the unruly man, he boldly surprised them by pulling out a "pepper spray" canister and spraying it directly into the faces of the police officers in an attempt to blind them and immobilize their movements, taking advantage of the chaos to flee the scene in the blink of an eye.
The taser failed and the "last gasp" confrontation
The police called for heavy reinforcements and began a wide search operation until they cornered the suspect shortly after. To avoid bloodshed, the officers used the taser gun to incapacitate him, but the shot missed its target and had no effect on him. At this point, the man turned into a ticking time bomb, and began hurling sharp and solid objects at the security personnel, targeting their heads with lethal strikes according to statements from the German police.
Faced with this imminent danger and feeling that their lives were at stake, one of the officers drew his weapon and fired live rounds directly at the man's body. Despite intensive medical efforts to revive him at the scene of the incident, he breathed his last almost immediately.
The incident sparked significant controversy in German circles, prompting the public prosecutor's office in Wuppertal to assign the case to the neighboring city police of "Hagen" to open an independent and impartial criminal investigation into the officer who fired the shots, to uncover the details of the incident and verify whether the use of live ammunition was legally justified in relation to the pepper spray and sharp objects.
