استنفرت فرق الإطفاء في مدينة حمص السورية عقب تلقي بلاغ عن اندلاع حريق كبير في سوق الحدادين، لتتوجه الآليات والكوادر المختصة إلى الموقع بشكل عاجل. إلا أن الفرق لم تعثر على أي مؤشرات لوجود حريق عند وصولها إلى المكان.
وبعد التواصل مجدداً مع السيدة التي قدمت البلاغ، تبيّن أنها كانت تقصد الإبلاغ عن حريق في سوق يحمل الاسم ذاته بمدينة حماة، لكنها أخطأت في الاتصال ووصل البلاغ إلى مركز إطفاء حمص.
وأثار المقطع المتداول للحادثة تفاعلاً واسعاً بين مستخدمي مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في سوريا، حيث اعتبر البعض أن ما جرى خطأ وارد في ظل الارتباك والضغط المصاحبين للحوادث الطارئة، بينما تعامل آخرون معه باعتباره موقفاً طريفاً.

After contacting the woman who made the report again, it became clear that she intended to report a fire in a market of the same name in the city of Hama, but she mistakenly called and the report reached the Homs firefighting center.
The circulated video of the incident sparked widespread reactions among social media users in Syria, with some considering what happened a common mistake amid the confusion and pressure accompanying emergency situations, while others treated it as a humorous incident.
