أوقفت الشرطة النمساوية شخصاً في ولاية بورغنلاند، للاشتباه فيه بدس سم فئران في عبوات طعام مخصصة للأطفال.
ولم تكشف الشرطة هوية المتهم، البالغ من العمر 39 عاماً، دون أن تستبعد أن يكون الدافع محاولة ابتزاز، وفق وكالة الأنباء النمساوية.
وتم شراء إحدى العبوات المسممة من محل سوبرماركت في ولاية بورغنلاند، وتبين أنها تحتوي على 15 ميكروغراماً من سم الفئران، فيما يُشتبه في أن عبوة أخرى بيعت داخل نفس مركز التسوق كانت مسممة أيضاً، لكن لم يتم العثور عليها. وأشارت التقارير الإعلامية إلى أن الشرطة ضبطت 5 عبوات ملوثة خلال عملية توقيف المتهم.
وسادت حالة من الرعب، عقب الإعلان عن أن عبوة سادسة ملوثة لا تزال مفقودة داخل الأراضي النمساوية، ما دفع الجهات المختصة لإطلاق إنذار أمني واسع النطاق للتحذير من استخدام هذه المنتجات.

A state of panic ensued following the announcement that a sixth contaminated package is still missing within Austrian territory, prompting authorities to issue a widespread security alert warning against the use of these products.
