أعلنت وزارة الداخلية الكويتية أن الأجهزة الأمنية المختصة تمكنت من ضبط شخص نشر مقطع فيديو عبر أحد تطبيقات التواصل الاجتماعي، تضمن ادعاءات غير صحيحة بشأن استهداف أبراج سكنية في منطقة المهبولة، وذلك ضمن جهودها المتواصلة لحفظ الأمن والاستقرار وترسيخ سيادة القانون.
وأوضحت الوزارة أن الجهات المعنية رصدت تداول مقطع يتضمن مزاعم كاذبة حول استهداف أبراج «عالية وغالية». وباشرت على الفور عمليات البحث والتحري، حيث تم تحديد هوية ناشر الفيديو وضبطه. وبمواجهته، أقر بقيامه بتصوير المقطع وتداوله عبر التطبيق مع عدد من الأشخاص، قبل أن يُحال إلى جهات الاختصاص لاتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية بحقه.
وأكدت الوزارة أن ترويج مثل هذه الادعاءات يمثل خطورة جسيمة لما يسببه من إثارة الذعر بين أفراد المجتمع، وبث القلق العام، وإرباك الأجهزة الأمنية عبر بلاغات مضللة، مشددة على أن هذه الأفعال تُعد جرائم يعاقب عليها القانون.
وجددت التأكيد على أن التعامل مع مروجي الشائعات وباثّي الأخبار الكاذبة سيتم بحزم ودون تهاون، حفاظًا على الأمن العام وصونًا لسلامة المجتمع.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced that the relevant security agencies managed to apprehend an individual who posted a video clip on one of the social media applications, which included false claims regarding the targeting of residential towers in the Mahboula area, as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain security and stability and uphold the rule of law.
The ministry clarified that the concerned authorities monitored the circulation of a clip containing false allegations about targeting "high and expensive" towers. They immediately initiated search and investigation operations, during which the identity of the video publisher was determined and apprehended. Upon confrontation, he admitted to filming the clip and sharing it via the application with several individuals, before being referred to the relevant authorities to take legal action against him.
The ministry emphasized that promoting such claims poses a serious danger due to the panic it causes among community members, the public anxiety it spreads, and the confusion it creates for security agencies through misleading reports, stressing that these actions are considered crimes punishable by law.
It reiterated that dealing with rumor mongers and disseminators of false news will be handled firmly and without leniency, in order to preserve public security and protect the safety of the community.
