أعلنت المملكة المتحدة، (الثلاثاء)، تعليق إصدار فئات محددة من التأشيرات لمواطني أربع دول، في خطوة وصفتها بأنها «إجراء طارئ» لمواجهة الارتفاع الكبير في طلبات اللجوء المقدمة عبر المسارات القانونية.
القرار يشمل وقف تأشيرات الدراسة لمواطني أفغانستان والكاميرون وميانمار والسودان، إضافة إلى تعليق تأشيرات العمل للأفغان.
وفي بيان رسمي، أوضحت وزارة الداخلية البريطانية أن هذا التعليق يُطبق للمرة الأولى بحق رعايا هذه الدول، بعدما سجلت السلطات ارتفاعًا حادًا في أعداد المتقدمين بطلبات لجوء عقب دخولهم البلاد بتأشيرات نظامية.
The United Kingdom announced on (Tuesday) the suspension of specific visa categories for citizens of four countries, in a move described as an "emergency measure" to address the significant increase in asylum applications submitted through legal pathways.
The decision includes halting study visas for citizens of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar, and Sudan, in addition to suspending work visas for Afghans.
In an official statement, the British Home Office clarified that this suspension is being applied for the first time to nationals of these countries, after authorities recorded a sharp rise in the number of applicants for asylum following their entry into the country on regular visas.
