اندلع حريق مروع، الخميس، في مصنع متخصص بإنتاج المواد الكاشطة المستخدمة في أدوات الصنفرة والجلخ، داخل المنطقة الصناعية بمدينة آبادان، الواقعة في محافظة خوزستان جنوب غرب إيران.
ألسنة اللهب تتصاعد
وأفادت تقارير إعلامية محلية وشهود عيان بأن ألسنة اللهب تصاعدت بسرعة، مصحوبة بأعمدة كثيفة جدًا من الدخان الأسود الكثيف الذي غطى أجزاء واسعة من سماء المدينة، وشوهد بوضوح من مناطق متفرقة داخل آبادان، ووصل تأثيره البصري إلى مدينة خرمشهر المجاورة التي تبعد نحو 15-20 كيلومترًا، ما أثار حالة من القلق والذعر بين السكان المحليين.
مواد قابلة للاشتعال
وهرعت على الفور فرق الإطفاء والدفاع المدني بأعداد كبيرة إلى موقع الحادثة، وسط جهود مكثفة لاحتواء النيران ومنع امتدادها إلى المنشآت الصناعية المجاورة، في ظل وجود مواد قابلة للاشتعال والانفجار داخل المصنع وفي المنطقة الصناعية بشكل عام.
تُعد محافظة خوزستان من أبرز المناطق الصناعية في إيران، حيث تتركز بها صناعات البتروكيماويات والنفط والصناعات الثقيلة، إلى جانب مصانع إنتاج المواد الكاشطة الصناعية مثل أكسيد الألومنيوم وكربيد السيليكون، وهي مواد أساسية تدخل في تصنيع أقراص وأحزمة الصنفرة، عجلات الجلخ، وأدوات القطع والتلميع الصناعية.
حرائق متكررة
وتشتهر المنطقة الصناعية في آبادان بتنوع منشآتها، لكنها شهدت خلال السنوات الماضية عدة حوادث حرائق في مصانع ومنشآت نفطية وبتروكيماوية، غالبًا ما ترتبط بظروف السلامة أو الحرارة الشديدة التي تسود المنطقة صيفًا.
ولم يتم حتى الآن الكشف رسميًا عن أسباب الحريق أو حجم الخسائر البشرية والمادية، وتتواصل عمليات الإطفاء والتبريد في الموقع وسط مخاوف من تسرب مواد كيميائية قد تؤثر على جودة الهواء في المناطق السكنية القريبة.
A horrific fire broke out on Thursday at a factory specializing in the production of abrasive materials used in sanding and grinding tools, located in the industrial area of Abadan city in Khuzestan province, southwestern Iran.
Flames Rising
Local media reports and eyewitnesses indicated that the flames rose rapidly, accompanied by very thick columns of black smoke that covered large parts of the sky over the city, clearly visible from various areas within Abadan, and its visual impact reached the neighboring city of Khorramshahr, which is about 15-20 kilometers away, causing panic and concern among local residents.
Flammable Materials
Firefighting and civil defense teams rushed in large numbers to the scene of the incident, amid intense efforts to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to neighboring industrial facilities, given the presence of flammable and explosive materials inside the factory and in the industrial area in general.
Khuzestan province is one of the most prominent industrial regions in Iran, where petrochemical, oil, and heavy industries are concentrated, along with factories producing industrial abrasive materials such as aluminum oxide and silicon carbide, which are essential materials used in the manufacturing of sanding discs and belts, grinding wheels, and industrial cutting and polishing tools.
Recurring Fires
The industrial area in Abadan is known for its diverse facilities, but it has witnessed several fire incidents in factories and oil and petrochemical facilities over the past years, often linked to safety conditions or the extreme heat that prevails in the region during the summer.
As of now, the official causes of the fire and the extent of human and material losses have not been disclosed, and firefighting and cooling operations at the site continue amid fears of chemical leaks that could affect air quality in nearby residential areas.
