في جريمة صدمت الرأي العام في سوكابومي جنوب غربي إندونيسيا، تحوّلت تفاصيل وفاة طفل يبلغ 12 عامًا إلى قضية رأي عام، بعد اتهامات مروّعة بتعريضه لتعذيب جسدي ونفسي داخل منزله.
الطفل الذي عُرف باسم نيزان شافي، فارق الحياة في 19 فبراير الجاري، لكن روايته قبل الوفاة فتحت بابًا ثقيلًا من الأسئلة. فقد أبلغ الشرطة (وفق ما نقلته صحيفة جاكرتا بوست) أنه أُجبر على شرب ماء مغلي، في واقعة يُشتبه بتورّط زوجة والده فيها.
لكن تشريح الجثة كشف ما هو أبعد من مجرد ادعاءات.
فالحروق واسعة النطاق، والتلف في الشفتين والأنف، والأضرار الجسيمة في الأعضاء الداخلية نتيجة السوائل الساخنة، إضافة إلى الإصابات المتعددة في الوجه كانت ناجمة عن صدمات قوية.
وقال قائد شرطة سوكابومي كبير مساعدي المفوض ساميان إن التحقيقات الأولية تشير إلى «عنف جسدي ونفسي مزعوم»، وأن الأدلة الطبية عززت الشبهات.
بدوره، تقدم والد الطفل ببلاغ رسمي ضد زوجته، لتبدأ السلطات إجراءات قانونية بموجب قانون مكافحة العنف ضد الأطفال في إندونيسيا.
الشرطة أعلنت تحديد مشتبه بها رئيسية، وتخضع زوجة الأب للتحقيق وسط متابعة مكثفة من الأجهزة المختصة.
هذه القضية أثارت موجة غضب على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، حيث طالب ناشطون بأقصى العقوبات، فيما وصف حقوقيون الحادثة بأنها «جريمة داخل جدران يفترض أن تكون أكثر الأماكن أمانًا للطفل».
ولا تزال التحقيقات مستمرة، لكن ما هو مؤكد أن اسم نيزان شافي تحوّل إلى عنوان لقضية تعيد فتح ملف العنف الأسري ضد الأطفال، بوجهه الأكثر قسوة.
In a crime that shocked public opinion in Sukabumi, southwestern Indonesia, the details surrounding the death of a 12-year-old boy have turned into a public case, following horrific allegations of subjecting him to physical and psychological torture within his home.
The boy, known as Nizan Shafi, passed away on February 19, but his account before his death opened a heavy door of questions. He reported to the police (according to the Jakarta Post) that he was forced to drink boiling water, in an incident suspected to involve his father's wife.
However, the autopsy revealed more than just allegations.
The extensive burns, damage to the lips and nose, severe internal organ damage due to hot liquids, in addition to multiple facial injuries, were the result of strong impacts.
Sukabumi Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Samyan stated that initial investigations indicate "alleged physical and psychological violence," and that medical evidence has reinforced the suspicions.
For his part, the boy's father filed an official complaint against his wife, prompting authorities to initiate legal proceedings under Indonesia's Child Protection Law.
The police announced the identification of a primary suspect, and the stepmother is under investigation amid intensive scrutiny from the relevant agencies.
This case has sparked a wave of outrage on social media, where activists have called for the maximum penalties, while human rights advocates described the incident as "a crime within walls that are supposed to be the safest places for a child."
Investigations are still ongoing, but what is certain is that the name Nizan Shafi has become synonymous with a case that reopens the file on domestic violence against children, in its most brutal form.
