سيطرت السلطات الكوبية على نيران هائلة اشتعلت أمس (الجمعة) في مصفاة نفط بخليج العاصمة الكوبية هافانا ملوّحة بأزمة جديدة تهدد الجزيرة التي تعاني أصلاً من نقص حاد في الوقود. وقالت وزارة الطاقة والمناجم إنها سيطرت على الحريق الذي اندلع في أحد المستودعات الواقعة في المصفاة. وتعكف فرقها حالياً على التحقيق لكشف أسبابه.

وفي خليج هافانا كانت ناقلتان نفطيتان رستا بالقرب من المصفاة، بعدما وصلت الخميس سفينتان تابعتان للبحرية المكسيكية محمّلتان بأكثر من 800 طن من المساعدات الإنسانية. وفي ظل الأزمة، يلوّح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب بفرض رسوم جمركية على أي دولة تحاول إرسال النفط إلى كوبا، ما يزيد من الضغوط الاقتصادية والإنسانية على السكان.

In Havana Bay, two oil tankers docked near the refinery, after two ships from the Mexican Navy arrived on Thursday loaded with over 800 tons of humanitarian aid. Amid the crisis, U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to impose tariffs on any country attempting to send oil to Cuba, increasing the economic and humanitarian pressures on the population.
Latin American experts warn that any failure to control the fire or halt oil production could paralyze daily and industrial life in Havana. So far, the Cuban authorities have not announced the cause of the fire, but they have confirmed that emergency teams are working to cool the nearby fuel tanks to prevent explosions or the fire from spreading. Official statements have not mentioned any human casualties, indicating that the relevant authorities continue to assess the material damages and the causes of the fire outbreak.
