شهدت منطقة سالينتو في جنوب إيطاليا، أمس (الإثنين)، عملية سطو مسلح وُصفت بأنها «خارجة من أفلام هوليوود»، حيث نفذت عصابة منظمة هجوماً جريئاً على شاحنة نقل أموال مصفحة تابعة لشركة أمنية خاصة على الطريق السريع الذي يربط بين مدينتي ليتشي وبرينديزي، بالقرب من بلدة توتورانو.
ووفقاً لرواية الشرطة الإيطالية «الكارابينييري»، بدأ الهجوم بإشعال النار في عدة سيارات وشاحنات على الطريق بهدف قطع حركة المرور وإجبار ناقلة الأموال على التوقف، وبعد ذلك، قامت مجموعة من الملثمين المسلحين بتفجير عبوات ناسفة على متن الشاحنة المصفحة لفتحها بالقوة، في مشهد أثار الذعر بين المارة وسائقي السيارات على الطريق المزدحم.
وتصادف وجود دورية للكارابينييري بالقرب من موقع الهجوم، ما أدى إلى اندلاع تبادل إطلاق نار عنيف بين قوات الأمن والعصابة، وأكدت السلطات أنه لم تقع إصابات بين أفراد الشرطة أو المدنيين، فيما تمكن بعض أفراد العصابة من الفرار من المكان.
وعقب الحادث مباشرة، أطلقت قوات الكارابينييري وقوات الأمن الإيطالية حملة بحث وتمشيط كبيرة في المنطقة، بمساعدة مروحيات ووحدات خاصة.
وأسفرت الجهود الأولية عن اعتقال شخصين على الأقل يُشتبه في تورطهما في العملية، فيما لا تزال عمليات البحث جارية عن باقي أفراد العصابة.
وشهدت منطقة سالينتو في السنوات الأخيرة عدداً من عمليات السطو المسلح على ناقلات الأموال، لكن الهجوم الأخير يتميز بجرأته وتنظيمه العالي، واستخدام العبوات الناسفة والإحراق المتعمد لإعاقة حركة المرور، وهي أساليب تذكّر بأفلام الجريمة الأمريكية الكلاسيكية.
وتُعد عمليات السطو على ناقلات الأموال من أكثر الجرائم تعقيداً في أوروبا، نظراً للحماية الأمنية الشديدة التي تتمتع بها هذه الشاحنات المصفحة، والمزودة بأنظمة تتبع، وحراسة مسلحة، ما يجعل نجاح مثل هذه العمليات نادراً ويثير اهتماماً إعلامياً واسعاً.
وتداولت وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي مقاطع فيديو وصوراً للحظات الهجوم، أظهرت ألسنة اللهب والدخان الكثيف المتصاعد من الطريق، ما زاد من الطابع الدرامي للواقعة.
The Salento region in southern Italy witnessed an armed robbery yesterday (Monday) that was described as "straight out of a Hollywood movie," where an organized gang executed a bold attack on an armored cash transport truck belonging to a private security company on the highway connecting the cities of Lecce and Brindisi, near the town of Tuturano.
According to the account of the Italian police, the "Carabinieri," the attack began by setting several cars and trucks on fire on the road to cut off traffic and force the cash transporter to stop. After that, a group of masked armed individuals detonated explosives on the armored truck to forcibly open it, in a scene that caused panic among pedestrians and drivers on the busy road.
A Carabinieri patrol happened to be near the attack site, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire between security forces and the gang. Authorities confirmed that there were no injuries among police officers or civilians, although some members of the gang managed to escape the scene.
Immediately following the incident, Carabinieri and Italian security forces launched a large search and sweep operation in the area, with the assistance of helicopters and special units.
Initial efforts resulted in the arrest of at least two individuals suspected of involvement in the operation, while searches for the remaining gang members are still ongoing.
The Salento region has witnessed a number of armed robberies on cash transport vehicles in recent years, but the latest attack is notable for its boldness and high level of organization, as well as the use of explosives and deliberate arson to hinder traffic, methods reminiscent of classic American crime films.
