A residential building completely collapsed today (Thursday) in the Tübingen district of Albstadt, Baden-Württemberg, southwestern Germany, after a violent explosion suspected to be caused by a gas leak.
The German police clarified that three people were inside the building at the time of the incident, while rescue teams continue to search for them amid the rubble of the building, manually removing debris due to the site's danger.
The neighboring homes were also significantly affected, necessitating the evacuation of residents to a community hall for psychological support, with confirmation that no injuries have been reported among the neighbors so far.
More than 150 police, fire, and ambulance personnel participated in the rescue operations, supported by police dogs, while authorities are investigating the causes of the explosion and examining the circumstances of the incident closely to ensure the safety of residents.
