شهد حي ليشترفيلده في برلين، صباح اليوم (السبت)، فوضى كبيرة بعدما اندلع حريق هائل في موقع للكابلات الكهربائية، تسبب في انقطاع التيار عن 50 ألف منزل وتعطل عمل أكثر من 2000 منشأة تجارية.
وقالت الشرطة الألمانية إن فرق الإطفاء تمكنت من السيطرة على النيران، بينما بدأ المحققون الجنائيون في فحص الكابلات لتحديد ما إذا كان الحريق متعمداً أم حادثة عرضية.
وأضافت الشرطة أن قوات الطوارئ بقيت في الموقع للتعامل مع أي أعطال جديدة والرد على استفسارات المواطنين، وسط موجة برد قاسية تضرب العاصمة، ما زاد من صعوبة السيطرة على الوضع وتأمين المناطق المتضررة.
وتتابع السلطات الألمانية عن كثب التحقيقات لكشف سبب الحريق، في ظل تكهنات بأن يكون العمل متعمداً لأسباب لم تُكشف بعد، وهو ما يثير قلق السكان حول سلامة البنية التحتية الكهربائية في المدينة.

The German police stated that firefighting teams managed to control the flames, while criminal investigators began examining the cables to determine whether the fire was intentional or accidental.
The police added that emergency services remained on-site to handle any new malfunctions and respond to citizens' inquiries, amid a severe cold wave hitting the capital, which made it more difficult to control the situation and secure the affected areas.
