في لحظة خاطفة داخل متجر صغير، حاولت شابة تركية أن تنقذ حياتها بإشارة صامتة بيدها. لم يدرك أحد معناها حينها، وبعد ساعات فقط، تحولت تلك الإشارة إلى دليل مفصلي في جريمة هزّت الرأي العام في مدينة توكات شمالي تركيا، بعدما كشفت التحقيقات أن شابة تُدعى خديجة بالمان (31 عاماً) قُتلت على يد زوجها، الذي حاول لاحقاً تحويل الجريمة إلى حادث سير مزيف.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام محلية، فإن خديجة دخلت أحد المتاجر برفقة زوجها مصطفى كوتش (42 عاماً)، حاولت طلب النجدة عبر إشارة استغاثة معروفة، تقوم على فتح اليد وإغلاقها بشكل متكرر. إلا أن صاحب المتجر لم يفهم الرسالة، لتُقتل الشابة بعد نحو ساعتين من تلك المحاولة اليائسة للنجاة.
وأظهرت التحقيقات أن الزوج سعى إلى التستر على الجريمة عبر الادعاء بأن الوفاة نتجت عن حادث سير، إلا أن إشارة الاستغاثة التي التُقطت لاحقاً غيرت مجرى القضية بالكامل. وقالت المحامية سيليناي أرسلان، التي تمثل عائلة الضحية، إن خديجة عاشت لحظات من الخوف والذعر، وبذلت محاولة أخيرة لإنقاذ حياتها قبل أن تُقتل.
ولا تقتصر القضية على الزوج وحده، إذ يواجه سبعة أشخاص آخرين اتهامات تتعلق بإتلاف الأدلة ومساعدة المتهم الرئيسي على تزييف ملابسات الحادث.
جريمة بدأت كحادث دراجة ظاهري، لكنها انتهت بكشف واقعة قتل عمد وخيانة ممن كان يفترض أن يكونوا سنداً للضحية.

No one understood its meaning at the time, and just hours later, that signal became a pivotal piece of evidence in a crime that shocked public opinion in the city of Tokat in northern Turkey, after investigations revealed that a young woman named Khadija Balman (31 years old) was killed by her husband, who later tried to turn the crime into a fake traffic accident.
According to local media, Khadija entered a store with her husband Mustafa Koc (42 years old) and attempted to call for help using a well-known distress signal, which involves repeatedly opening and closing her hand. However, the store owner did not understand the message, and the young woman was killed about two hours after that desperate attempt to survive.
Investigations revealed that the husband sought to cover up the crime by claiming that the death resulted from a traffic accident, but the distress signal that was later captured completely changed the course of the case. Attorney Selinay Arslan, who represents the victim's family, stated that Khadija experienced moments of fear and panic and made a final attempt to save her life before she was killed.
The case does not involve just the husband alone, as seven other individuals face charges related to tampering with evidence and assisting the main suspect in fabricating the circumstances of the incident.
A crime that began as a seemingly bicycle accident ended with the revelation of a deliberate murder and betrayal from those who were supposed to support the victim.
