تحولت رحلة «إير كونغو» في مطار كيندو بجمهورية الكونغو الديموقراطية إلى كارثة حقيقية، بعدما ظل الركاب محتجزين داخل الطائرة لساعات بسبب غياب السلالم للنزول.
وفي مقطع فيديو صادم انتشر على «إكس»، شوهد الركاب يقفزون من الباب الرئيسي للطائرة إلى الأرض، من ارتفاع يتراوح بين 5 و6 أقدام. البعض ساعد الآخرين على النزول، فيما سلم آخرون حقائبهم قبل القفز.
ورغم تواجد طاقم الطائرة وموظفي المطار، إلا أنهم لم يقدموا أي حلول آمنة، كما لم يتدخل عناصر الشرطة تاركين الركاب يواجهون خطراً كبيراً على حياتهم.
من جانبها، رفضت الشركة استخدام منزلقات الطوارئ المكلفة، التي تُستخدم لمرة واحدة فقط، لتجنب توقف الطائرة عن العمل أو تكبد خسائر مالية قد تصل إلى عشرات الآلاف من الدولارات.
وحذر الخبراء من أن سقوط الركاب من هذا الارتفاع قد يؤدي إلى كسور خطيرة في العمود الفقري أو الرأس، خصوصاً لكبار السن وذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.
وفي سياق متصل، وصف رواد منصات التواصل الحادثة بأنها فوضى غير مقبولة وفشل أمني جسيم، مؤكدين أن مثل هذه الحوادث لا يجب أن تحدث في أي مطار، مهما كانت الظروف.
ولفتت الحادثة الانتباه إلى حوادث مشابهة مثل حادثة ديسمبر 2024 لشركة بريطانية، حين تعرض أحد أفراد الطاقم لإصابات خطيرة عند سقوطه من الطائرة.

In a shocking video that circulated on "X," passengers were seen jumping from the main door of the plane to the ground, from a height of about 5 to 6 feet. Some helped others down, while others handed over their bags before jumping.
Despite the presence of the flight crew and airport staff, they did not provide any safe solutions, nor did the police intervene, leaving passengers to face a significant danger to their lives.
For its part, the airline refused to use the costly emergency slides, which are used only once, to avoid the aircraft being taken out of service or incurring financial losses that could reach tens of thousands of dollars.
Experts warned that falling from this height could lead to serious fractures of the spine or head, especially for the elderly and those with disabilities.
In a related context, social media users described the incident as an unacceptable chaos and a serious security failure, emphasizing that such incidents should not happen at any airport, regardless of the circumstances.
The incident drew attention to similar occurrences, such as the December 2024 incident involving a British airline, when a crew member sustained serious injuries after falling from the plane.
