تمكنت الشرطة الإسبانية، في عملية أمنية واسعة، من تفكيك شبكة إجرامية متخصصة في تهريب المخدرات، كانت تنقل كميات كبيرة من الحشيش من المغرب إلى إسبانيا باستخدام المروحيات. وتأتي هذه العملية ضمن جهود مكثفة لمكافحة تهريب المخدرات جوّاً.
وأفاد الحرس المدني الإسباني، في بيان، بأن المروحيات قادرة على نقل ما بين 500 و900 كيلوغرام من المخدرات، كانت تُخزّن بعد نقلها في مزارع ريفية ومستودعات جنوب إسبانيا قبل توزيعها برّا إلى دول أوروبية أخرى.
وصادرت الشرطة إحدى المروحيات و657 كيلوغراما من حشيشة الكيف، وخمسة أسلحة، ومبالغ نقدية، ومركبات، خلال مداهمات في محافظات ملقا وألميريا ومورسيا.
وأوقفت السلطات ستة أشخاص خلال العملية التي شاركت فيها أيضا أجهزة مغربية وبلجيكية وسويدية.
وتُعدّ إسبانيا، بفضل علاقاتها الوثيقة مع أمريكا اللاتينية وقربها من المغرب، نقطة دخول رئيسية لتهريب المخدرات إلى أوروبا، إلا أن عمليات التهريب تتم عادة عبر البحر.
وخلال السنة الماضية، كشفت الشرطة الإسبانية شبكات تستخدم المسيرات لنقل المخدرات من المغرب.
The Spanish police, in a wide-ranging security operation, managed to dismantle a criminal network specialized in drug trafficking, which was transporting large quantities of hashish from Morocco to Spain using helicopters. This operation is part of intensified efforts to combat drug smuggling by air.
The Spanish Civil Guard reported in a statement that the helicopters are capable of transporting between 500 and 900 kilograms of drugs, which were stored after being transported in rural farms and warehouses in southern Spain before being distributed by land to other European countries.
The police seized one helicopter and 657 kilograms of cannabis, five weapons, cash, and vehicles during raids in the provinces of Malaga, Almeria, and Murcia.
The authorities arrested six individuals during the operation, which also involved Moroccan, Belgian, and Swedish agencies.
Spain, due to its close ties with Latin America and its proximity to Morocco, is a major entry point for drug trafficking into Europe, although smuggling operations usually occur by sea.
Last year, the Spanish police uncovered networks using drones to transport drugs from Morocco.
