The police arrested the woman, locally known as "Poonam," after the tragic incident in the city of Panipat in northern India, and she confessed that she committed the crime out of a desire not to have anyone appear "more beautiful than her" at the party.
According to local media, Poonam also confessed to having killed three other children previously, including her niece and her own son, explaining that she specifically targeted young girls.
