تفاقمت أزمة السفر الجوي في الولايات المتحدة مع تأجيل نحو 7000 رحلة في جميع أنحاء البلاد أمس (الإثنين)، في ظل تزايد حالات غياب مراقبي الحركة الجوية مع دخول الإغلاق الحكومي الاتحادي يومه السابع والعشرين.
وأشارت إدارة الطيران الاتحادية إلى نقص في عدد الموظفين وفرض برامج لتأخير الرحلات الجوية، مما أثر على مطار نيوارك في نيوجيرسي، ومطار أوستن في تكساس، ومطار دالاس فورت وورث الدولي أمس.
ويؤثر الإغلاق على نحو 13000 مراقب جوي و50000 موظف في إدارة أمن النقل، وأجّلت أكثر من 8600 رحلة عن مواعيدها يوم الأحد.
The air travel crisis in the United States worsened with the delay of nearly 7,000 flights across the country yesterday (Monday), amid increasing absences of air traffic controllers as the federal government shutdown entered its twenty-seventh day.
The Federal Aviation Administration indicated a shortage of staff and implemented programs to delay flights, which affected Newark Airport in New Jersey, Austin Airport in Texas, and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport yesterday.
The shutdown impacts about 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration employees, with more than 8,600 flights delayed from their schedules on Sunday.
