تسلمت إسرائيل عبر الصليب الأحمر، مساء الجمعة، جثماناً إضافياً من حركة «حماس» بما يرفع عدد الجثامين التي استعادتها تل أبيب إلى 10. وتقول «حماس» إنها سلمت إسرائيل، عبر الصليب الأحمر، 11 جثماناً، ولكن الحكومة الإسرائيلية قالت إن أحد الجثامين لا يعود لأي رهينة إسرائيلي.
وفي حال صحت الأرقام الإسرائيلية فما زالت في غزة جثامين 18 رهينة بينهم 3 من العمال الأجانب.
وكانت كتائب القسام، الجناح العسكري لحركة «حماس»، أعلنت قرارها تسليم جثمان رهينة إسرائيلي لم تذكر اسمه.
وأعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي لاحقاً أن طواقم الصليب الأحمر في طريقها إلى نقطة التقاء في جنوب قطاع غزة، حيث سيتسلم أفراده تابوتاً يعود إلى «مختطف قتيل».
وأشار لاحقاً إلى أنه «تم تسليم أفراد الصليب الأحمر التابوت، وهم في طريقهم إلى قوة من الجيش الإسرائيلي والشاباك داخل قطاع غزة».
وتم تسلم الجثمان حيث نقل إلى معهد الطب الشرعي من أجل تحديد هوية صاحبه.
وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي إن «حماس مطالبة بالوفاء بالاتفاق وبذل كل الجهود المطلوبة لإعادة جثامين كافة المختطفين القتلى».
وتقول حركة «حماس» إنها تواجه صعوبة في تحديد أماكن باقي الجثامين بسبب الدمار الهائل في قطاع غزة وإنها بحاجة إلى الوقت والمساعدة في تحديد مواقع وإخراج الجثامين.
من جهتها، تقول إسرائيل إنها تطلب من الوسطاء الضغط على حركة «حماس» من أجل تسريع تسليم الجثامين.
ويقول الوسطاء بمن فيهم الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إنهم يدركون صعوبة تحديد مواقع وإخراج الجثامين.
وبمقابل كل جثمان تسلم إسرائيل جثامين 15 فلسطينياً قتلوا في غزة خلال الحرب وتم الاحتفاظ بجثثهم في إسرائيل.
Israel received an additional body from Hamas via the Red Cross on Friday evening, bringing the total number of bodies retrieved by Tel Aviv to 10. Hamas claims it has handed over 11 bodies to Israel through the Red Cross, but the Israeli government stated that one of the bodies does not belong to any Israeli hostage.
If the Israeli figures are correct, there are still 18 bodies of hostages in Gaza, including 3 foreign workers.
The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced its decision to hand over the body of an Israeli hostage whose name was not mentioned.
The Israeli army later announced that Red Cross teams were on their way to a meeting point in southern Gaza, where they would receive a coffin belonging to a "deceased abductee."
It was later indicated that "the coffin was handed over to the Red Cross personnel, who are on their way to a force from the Israeli army and the Shin Bet inside Gaza."
The body was received and transported to the forensic institute for identification purposes.
The Israeli army stated that "Hamas is required to fulfill the agreement and make every effort needed to return the bodies of all deceased abductees."
Hamas claims it is facing difficulties in locating the remaining bodies due to the massive destruction in Gaza and that it needs time and assistance in identifying locations and retrieving the bodies.
For its part, Israel says it is asking mediators to pressure Hamas to expedite the delivery of the bodies.
Mediators, including the United States, say they understand the difficulties in locating and retrieving the bodies.
In exchange for each body, Israel is returning the bodies of 15 Palestinians killed in Gaza during the war, which have been kept in Israel.
