أعلن المعهد الفلبيني لرصد الزلازل والبراكين تسجيل نحو (824) هزة ارتدادية خلال (24) ساعة، عقب الزلزالَين القويين اللذين ضربا إقليم دافاو أورينتال جنوب البلاد أمس (الجمعة)، بلغت قوتهما (7.4) و(6.8) درجة على مقياس ريختر.
وأوضح مدير المعهد تيريسيتو باكولكول أن أقوى هزة ارتدادية سجلت قوة (5.8) درجة، فيما تجاوزت قوة 6 هزات أخرى (5) درجات، مشيراً إلى أن جميعها تركزت في المنطقة ذاتها.
وارتفع عدد ضحايا الزلزالين إلى (7) قتلى وأكثر من (300) مصاب، فيما تأثر أكثر من (200) ألف شخص بالزلزالين اللذين وقعا قبالة مدينة ماناي بإقليم دافاو أورينتال، على بُعد نحو (1000) كيلومتر جنوب مانيلا.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology announced the recording of about (824) aftershocks within (24) hours, following the two strong earthquakes that struck the Davao Oriental region in the south of the country yesterday (Friday), with magnitudes of (7.4) and (6.8) on the Richter scale.
The institute's director, Teresito Bacolcol, explained that the strongest aftershock recorded a magnitude of (5.8), while more than 6 other aftershocks exceeded (5) degrees, noting that all of them were concentrated in the same area.
The number of casualties from the two earthquakes has risen to (7) dead and more than (300) injured, while more than (200) thousand people were affected by the earthquakes that occurred off the coast of the city of Manay in the Davao Oriental region, about (1000) kilometers south of Manila.
