انتخب المجلس التنفيذي لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (اليونسكو)، بأغلبية ساحقة وأعلى تصويت في تاريخ المنظمة، المصري خالد العناني لمنصب مدير عام منظمة اليونسكو.
وأعلنت الخارجية المصرية أن المرشح المصري خالد العناني حصل على تصويت 55 دولة من إجمالي 57 دولة عضواً في المجلس التنفيذي لمنظمة اليونسكو، وهو أكبر عدد أصوات يحصل عليه مرشح لمنصب مدير عام المنظمة في انتخابات تنافسية منذ تأسيسها عام 1945.
وتقدمت وزارة الخارجية المصرية بأحر التهاني للرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي وللشعب المصري والشعوب العربية والأفريقية على فوز المرشح المصري والعربي والأفريقي بهذا المنصب الفريد.
واعتبرت وزارة الخارجية المصرية أن هذا الفوز الساحق للمرشح المصري يؤكد الثقة الكبيرة التي توليها الدول الأعضاء للدبلوماسية المصرية وللمرشح المصري وكفاءته وجدارته لهذا المنصب وإسهاماته الثقافية ورؤيته الشاملة لعمل المنظمة.
وأوضحت الخارجية المصرية أن نتيجة التصويت اليوم جاءت تتويجاً لجهود حملة انتخابية موسعة قادتها وزارة الخارجية على مدار 30 شهراً بتوجيه من الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي، كان نصب أعينها فيها تحقيق هذا الإنجاز التاريخي.
وأشار وزير الخارجية المصري إلى أن انتخاب العناني لهذا المنصب الرفيع يعد احتفاءً بإسهامات مصر والعالمين العربي والأفريقي الثقافية والحضارية والفكرية على مدار آلاف السنين، معرباً عن التقدير لجامعة الدول العربية والاتحاد الأفريقي، وكل الدول التي منحت مصر ثقتها وقامت بتأييد المرشح المصري.
وشدد عبدالعاطي على أن المسؤولية تقع على عاتق مصر نتيجة هذه الثقة، داعياً جميع دول المنظمة لتعزيز العمل المشترك نحو مستقبل يحمي التراث ويسهم في نشر العلم ويعزز السلام والتعايش والتسامح بين الحضارات المختلفة.
The Executive Council of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has elected the Egyptian Khaled El-Anani as the Director-General of UNESCO with a landslide majority and the highest vote in the organization's history.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that the Egyptian candidate Khaled El-Anani received votes from 55 out of a total of 57 member states in the UNESCO Executive Council, which is the largest number of votes received by a candidate for the position of Director-General in a competitive election since its establishment in 1945.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry extended its warmest congratulations to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian people, and the Arab and African nations on the victory of the Egyptian, Arab, and African candidate in this unique position.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry considered that this overwhelming victory for the Egyptian candidate confirms the great trust that member states place in Egyptian diplomacy, in the Egyptian candidate's competence and qualifications for this position, and in his cultural contributions and comprehensive vision for the organization's work.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry clarified that the result of today's vote is the culmination of extensive electoral campaign efforts led by the Foreign Ministry over the past 30 months under the guidance of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, with the aim of achieving this historic achievement.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister pointed out that the election of El-Anani to this high position is a celebration of Egypt's and the Arab and African worlds' cultural, civilizational, and intellectual contributions over thousands of years, expressing appreciation for the Arab League, the African Union, and all the countries that placed their trust in Egypt and supported the Egyptian candidate.
Abd El-Aty emphasized that the responsibility lies with Egypt as a result of this trust, calling on all member states to enhance joint work towards a future that protects heritage, contributes to the dissemination of knowledge, and promotes peace, coexistence, and tolerance among different civilizations.
