On the evening of December 6, 1991, the bodies of four girls were found: Eliza Thomas (17 years old), Jennifer Harbison (17 years old), her sister Sarah (15 years old), and their friend Amy Ayers (13 years old). The girls were bound with their clothing, some had been sexually assaulted, and then they were shot before the perpetrators set fire to conceal the evidence of the crime.
The Suspect
Prolonged investigations revealed, using DNA techniques and genetic genealogy, that the suspect is Robert Eugene Brashers, who ended his life by suicide in 1999 after a standoff with the police. It was later found that he committed other similar murders.
