تورم وآلام
رغم علمها أن الخاتم صغير جداً، أصرت أيونا على لبسه. وبعد ساعات قليلة، وأثناء استعراضه أمام أسرتها، انتفخ إصبعها واشتد الألم بشكل مقلق، ما دفع عائلتها لإرسالها فوراً إلى المستشفى.

Despite knowing that the ring was very small, Iona insisted on wearing it. After just a few hours, while showing it off to her family, her finger swelled and the pain intensified alarmingly, prompting her family to rush her to the hospital immediately.
Last-Minute Rescue
Doctors attempted to remove the ring using several traditional methods, but all attempts failed, forcing them to ultimately cut the ring off and save the finger from losing its blood supply.
They informed her that delaying until the morning would have resulted in the complete loss of her finger.
Overcoming the Situation
Despite the pain, the story showcased the resilience of the couple, as Iona confirmed that the situation revealed how ready her partner was to stand by her "in sickness and in health."
