مع اقتراب بدء العام الدراسي الجديد في مصر، تصاعدت الانتقادات حول قوائم «السبلايز» (وهي المستلزمات الدراسية الخاصة بالمدارس الخاصة والدولية)، التي تحولت من أدوات تعليمية بسيطة إلى قوائم مطولة تشبه تجهيزات منزلية، ما أثار استياء أولياء الأمور وأشعل موجة واسعة من السخرية على مواقع التواصل.
من الكراسات إلى المطهرات والأكواب
في الماضي، كانت الحقيبة المدرسية تقتصر على الكراسات والأقلام والأدوات الأساسية. واليوم، تضم القوائم أصنافاً غير مألوفة: مناديل ورقية بالجملة، ومطهرات ومعقمات، وأدوات تنظيف، وأطباقاً وأكواب بلاستيكية، بل وحتى مستلزمات مطبخ وملابس احتياطية. وأضافت بعض المدارس خامات للأشغال اليدوية، وأوراق كانسون، ومستلزمات طبية، أو حتى كرات بينغ بونغ.
سخرية على «السوشيال ميديا»
وجد الأمهات والآباء أنفسهم أمام قوائم طويلة ومكلفة، وصلت في بعض الحالات إلى 13 ألف جنيه، فراوحت التعليقات على مواقع التواصل بين الاستغراب والاحتجاج، إذ تساءل كثيرون: «هل نُحضّر أبناءنا للدراسة أم نجهزهم للزواج؟».
وانتشرت صور ومنشورات ساخرة تصف القوائم بأنها «جهاز عروس»، فيما روى البعض تجارب مضحكة، مثل شراء كميات مبالغ فيها من أدوات الرسم رغم أن الأبناء لا يبدون أي اهتمام بالمادة.
انقسام بين مؤيد ومعارض
فيما عبر كثيرون عن استيائهم من التكاليف المرهقة، دافع بعض أولياء الأمور عن هذه القوائم باعتبارها جزءاً طبيعياً من نظام المدارس الدولية المعروف بتكاليفه المرتفعة. لكن منتقدين اعتبروا أن الأمر لا يرتبط فقط بالقدرة المالية، بل بمدى منطقية البنود المطلوبة وعلاقتها المباشرة بالعملية التعليمية.
دعوات لإعادة النظر
مع اشتداد النقاش، طالب بعض الأهالي بمراجعة قوائم «السبلايز» لتقتصر على الأساسيات الضرورية فقط، بما يخفف الأعباء المالية عن الأسر، ويعيد التوازن إلى الهدف الرئيسي: دعم تعلم الطلاب لا إرهاق ذويهم.

Today, the lists include unfamiliar items: bulk paper tissues, disinfectants and sanitizers, cleaning supplies, plastic plates and cups, and even kitchen supplies and spare clothes. Some schools have added materials for arts and crafts, canson paper, medical supplies, or even ping pong balls.
Mockery on Social Media
Parents found themselves faced with long and costly lists, reaching in some cases up to 13,000 Egyptian pounds, leading to comments on social media ranging from astonishment to protest, as many wondered: "Are we preparing our children for study or equipping them for marriage?"
Images and satirical posts circulated describing the lists as "bride's dowry," while some shared funny experiences, such as buying excessive amounts of drawing supplies despite their children showing no interest in the subject.
Division Between Supporters and Opponents
While many expressed their dissatisfaction with the burdensome costs, some parents defended these lists as a natural part of the international school system known for its high expenses. However, critics argued that the issue is not only about financial capability but also about the logic of the requested items and their direct relation to the educational process.
Calls for Reevaluation
As the debate intensified, some parents called for a review of the "supplies" lists to limit them to only essential items, easing the financial burden on families and restoring balance to the primary goal: supporting student learning rather than exhausting their parents.
