في تطور جديد يزيد من القلق بشأن سلامة الأجهزة المنزلية، سحبت شركة إيبوكا إنترناشونال أكثر من 110 آلاف ثلاجة صغيرة تحمل علامة باريس هيلتون، بعد اكتشاف خلل قد يؤدي إلى اشتعال النيران داخلها.
ما الأجهزة المتأثرة؟
يشمل الاستدعاء الثلاجات الصغيرة بسعة 4 لترات و10 لترات المخصصة لتخزين مستحضرات التجميل. هذه الأجهزة طُرحت في الأسواق بين نوفمبر 2022 ويوليو 2025 عبر متاجر كبرى مثل وول مارت وروس، إضافة إلى مواقع إلكترونية من بينها أمازون.

أعطال خطيرة
رغم عدم تسجيل إصابات بشرية، إلا أن الشركة وثّقت 27 حادثة تضمنت ارتفاع حرارة الأجهزة واندلاع نيران ألحقت أضراراً بالثلاجات وبالأسطح المحيطة بها.
وفي بيان منفصل، أشارت لجنة سلامة المنتجات الاستهلاكية الأمريكية إلى تلقيها شكاوى مماثلة عن أجهزة تصدر دخاناً وشرارات وتنصهر نتيجة العطل.
ماذا يفعل المستهلكون؟
طالبت الشركة العملاء بالتوقف الفوري عن استخدام الثلاجات المعنية، والتوجه إلى موقعها الإلكتروني لتعبئة استمارة استرجاع قيمة الشراء، على أن يتم تعويضهم عبر شيك إلكتروني.
وتراوح أسعار هذه الثلاجات بين 30 دولاراً للنسخ الصغيرة باللون الأزرق أو الوردي أو الأبيض، و60 دولاراً للنسخ الأكبر المتوفرة باللون الأبيض أو الوردي.
حوادث مشابهة
وتأتي هذه الخطوة بعد أقل من شهرين على سحب شركة فريجيدير أكثر من 600 ألف ثلاجة صغيرة بسبب مخاطر مشابهة تسببت في بعض الإصابات، ما يثير تساؤلات حول معايير السلامة في هذه الفئة من الأجهزة.
In a new development that raises concerns about the safety of household appliances, Epoca International has recalled more than 110,000 small refrigerators bearing the Paris Hilton brand after discovering a defect that could lead to fires inside them.
What appliances are affected?
The recall includes small refrigerators with capacities of 4 liters and 10 liters designed for storing cosmetics. These appliances were sold in stores between November 2022 and July 2025 through major retailers such as Walmart and Ross, as well as online sites including Amazon.
Consumers can identify the affected appliances by the letters PH located at the bottom of the refrigerator, along with model and serial numbers that precede August 2024.
Serious malfunctions
Although no injuries have been reported, the company documented 27 incidents involving overheating appliances and fires that caused damage to the refrigerators and surrounding surfaces.
In a separate statement, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission noted that it had received similar complaints about appliances emitting smoke and sparks and melting due to the defect.
What should consumers do?
The company has urged customers to immediately stop using the affected refrigerators and visit its website to fill out a refund request form, with compensation to be provided via an electronic check.
The prices of these refrigerators range from $30 for the smaller versions in blue, pink, or white, to $60 for the larger versions available in white or pink.
Similar incidents
This action comes less than two months after Frigidaire recalled more than 600,000 small refrigerators due to similar hazards that resulted in some injuries, raising questions about safety standards in this category of appliances.
