The Minya Criminal Court in Egypt decided to postpone the trial of the accused Hagar A. A. (26 years old), known in the media as "Ni'ma," in the case of murdering her husband and their six children in the village of Delga in the Dair Mawas district. The next session is scheduled for October 11, 2025, for the defense's arguments, along with discussing defense requests and including a report from the Faculty of Agriculture regarding the nature of the toxic substance and the release of audio recordings.

Today (Monday), the Minya Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Alaa El-Din Mohamed Abbas, began the first session of the trial of the accused in the case, registered under number 13282 for the year 2025 in the Dair Mawas Criminal Court and number 2579 for the year 2025 in the South Minya Court, which has shocked public opinion due to the heinous nature of the crime.

During the session, the accused appeared in the defendants' cage holding her infant child, in a state of anxiety, in a scene that was widely circulated on social media and sparked a wave of sympathy, while the mother of the children who were victims of the accused could not hold back her tears and broke down crying.

The Public Prosecution charged the accused with premeditated murder using a toxic pesticide, in addition to attempting to murder the first wife, Umm Hashim Ahmed Abdel Fattah, during the period from July 6 to July 25, 2025.

The accused, the second wife, exploited her habit of sending bread to the children, mixing the poison with the bread, which led to the death of the husband and their six children, while the first wife survived by refusing to consume it.

Investigations revealed that jealousy and revenge were the motives behind the crime, following the first wife's return to her husband's custody.

Surveillance cameras confirmed the transfer of the poisoned bread to the children, and the prosecution's examination confirmed the presence of traces of poison in the remnants of the bread and cooking utensils.

Forensic reports indicated that the deaths resulted from vital organ failure due to the toxic substance, and the accused confessed to her crime and conducted a reenactment of the incident.

In contrast, the mother of the victim children demanded the death penalty, indicating that the accused also attempted to kill her out of jealousy, and she attended the children's funerals pretending to be mourning.

For his part, the uncle of the children revealed the accused's previous behavior, noting that she was divorced from a previous marriage due to violent behaviors, and claimed to be religious despite her lack of commitment.

The case has sparked widespread outrage, prompting authorities to exhume the bodies of the children for investigation.
