Cherry's body was found on July 1, 2022, under the Redheugh Bridge on the River Tyne, seven months after her husband's wrongful arrest. In another sad twist, Craig Jackson later died from cancer.

Members of Turner's family expressed the deep pain they endured over more than three years, affirming that the incident left a psychological and physical impact on all those close to the couple.
