قضى أربعة أشخاص غرقا إثر انقلاب قارب إنقاذ كان يقلّ ضحايا الفيضانات في مدينة «جلال بور» بإقليم البنجاب الباكستاني.
وبينت مصادر أمنية أن القارب كان يقل نحو 30 شخصًا، حيث جرى إنقاذ 25 منهم، بينهم ستة مصابين، فيما لا يزال رضيع يبلغ من العمر شهرين مفقودًا وتواصل فرق الإنقاذ عمليات البحث عنه.
وأشارت مصادر الإنقاذ إلى أن بعض الضحايا تم انتشالهم بمساعدة الأهالي، موضحة أن القارب انقلب بسبب الاكتظاظ وتجاوز طاقته الاستيعابية، رغم أنه أُرسل لإجلاء السكان المتضررين من الفيضانات.
وتشهد مناطق واسعة من باكستان فيضانات وانهيارات أرضية أدت إلى مصرع وإصابة المئات وسط تواضع وسائل الحماية المدنية والإنقاذ.
Four people drowned after a rescue boat capsized while carrying flood victims in the city of "Jalalpur" in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
Security sources indicated that the boat was carrying about 30 people, of whom 25 were rescued, including six injured, while a two-month-old baby remains missing and rescue teams continue their search for him.
Rescue sources noted that some victims were retrieved with the help of local residents, explaining that the boat capsized due to overcrowding and exceeding its capacity, even though it was sent to evacuate residents affected by the floods.
