لقي رجل هندي مصرعه بعد أن تعرض لهجوم جماعي من القرود في إحدى قرى ولاية بيهار (شرق الهند)، في حادثة هزت السكان وأثارت مخاوف متجددة بشأن انتشار هذه الحيوانات في المناطق المأهولة.
الرجل المدعو رامانات شودهاري (67 عاماً) وهو موظف متقاعد من مصنع للسكر، كان يجمع العلف لماشيته في منطقة مادوباني. وبحسب تقارير محلية، باغته نحو 20 قرداً أسقطوه أرضاً وانهالوا عليه بالعض والخدش. وحاول شودهاري الصراخ طالباً المساعدة، لكن لم يكن أحد قريباً ليستجيب لندائه.
وعثر السكان لاحقاً على الضحية وهو مصاب بجروح بالغة، ونقلوه بسرعة إلى مستشفى مادوباني سادار، إلا أن الأطباء أعلنوا وفاته فور وصوله متأثراً بالإصابات الخطيرة.
وتأتي هذه الحادثة في وقت شهدت فيه القرية والمناطق المجاورة سلسلة من الهجمات التي شنتها القرود على السكان والممتلكات، لكنها المرة الأولى التي تؤدي فيها هذه الهجمات إلى وفاة شخص.
من جانبها، أعلنت شرطة منطقة بانداول أنها طلبت من دائرة الغابات التدخل للسيطرة على الوضع، من خلال الإمساك بالقرود ونقلها إلى مناطق بعيدة عن التجمعات السكنية، محذرة السكان من الاقتراب أو الاحتكاك المباشر مع هذه الحيوانات الخطرة.
An Indian man was killed after being attacked by a group of monkeys in a village in Bihar state (eastern India), in an incident that shook the residents and raised renewed concerns about the spread of these animals in populated areas.
The man, named Ramanan Choudhary (67 years old), a retired employee from a sugar factory, was collecting fodder for his livestock in the Madhubani area. According to local reports, he was ambushed by about 20 monkeys that knocked him to the ground and began biting and scratching him. Choudhary tried to scream for help, but there was no one nearby to respond to his call.
Residents later found the victim with severe injuries and quickly transported him to Madhubani Sadar Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival due to his serious injuries.
This incident comes at a time when the village and surrounding areas have witnessed a series of attacks by monkeys on residents and property, but this is the first time such attacks have resulted in a person's death.
For its part, the Pandol police announced that they had requested the forest department to intervene to control the situation by capturing the monkeys and relocating them to areas far from residential communities, warning residents to avoid approaching or having direct contact with these dangerous animals.
