توفيت بطلة الفروسية البريطانية أبيجيل غارسيد في حادثة مأساوية بعد ساعات من الاحتفال بذكرى زواجها الأولى مع زوجها، في وقت كانت تستعد فيه للانتقال إلى أستراليا لبدء فصل جديد في حياتها.
العثور على جثمان غارسيد البالغة من العمر 30 عاماً في حدائق عامة في هاروجيت شمال يوركشاير، كان مفاجئاً تماماً، خصوصاً بعد أن كانت قد أمضت يوماً لا يُنسى مع زوجها صامويل، في منتجع فاخر في ريدينغ بارك، إذ نشرا صوراً احتفالية على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
وعلى الرغم من أن الشرطة أكدت أن وفاتها لا تبدو مشبوهة، إلا أن التحقيقات ما زالت جارية للكشف عن السبب الدقيق للوفاة. وكان من المقرر أن تنتقل غارسيد وزوجها إلى أستراليا في أكتوبر القادم، بعد أن تم تأمين تأشيرات السفر، كما كان لديهما خطط لبداية حياة جديدة هناك مع كلابهما الثلاثة.
وأشارت مصادر مقربة من الزوجين إلى أن غارسيد كانت تحلم كثيراً بالانتقال إلى أستراليا، وهو ما أكده كل من أصدقائها وزوجها. وأضافوا أن الجميع تفاجأ بالحادثة المأساوية، خصوصاً أنها كانت تتمتع بصحة جيدة ولم تعاني من أي مشكلات صحية واضحة.
وكانت غارسيد معروفة في أوساط الفروسية، إذ فازت في مسابقة «Horse of the Year Show» المرموقة عام 2019، وكان لها حضور قوي في نادي الفروسية في ريفبُل فالي.
وسيتم تشييع جثمانها في جنازة تقليدية على عربة تجرها الخيول، تماشياً مع محبتها للفروسية. في حين يطلب الأصدقاء وأفراد العائلة التبرع لصالح جمعيات خيرية تهتم بالصحة النفسية والرفق بالحيوانات تكريماً لها.

The discovery of Garcid's body, aged 30, in a public park in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, was completely shocking, especially after she had spent an unforgettable day with her husband Samuel at a luxury resort in Reading Park, where they shared celebratory photos on social media.
Although the police confirmed that her death does not appear suspicious, investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact cause of death. Garcid and her husband were scheduled to move to Australia next October after securing travel visas, and they had plans to start a new life there with their three dogs.
Sources close to the couple indicated that Garcid had dreamed for a long time about moving to Australia, a sentiment echoed by both her friends and her husband. They added that everyone was shocked by the tragic incident, especially since she was in good health and had not shown any obvious health issues.
Garcid was well-known in equestrian circles, having won the prestigious "Horse of the Year Show" competition in 2019, and she had a strong presence at the Ripon Valley Riding Club.
Her body will be laid to rest in a traditional funeral on a horse-drawn carriage, in line with her love for equestrianism. Meanwhile, friends and family are requesting donations to charities focused on mental health and animal welfare in her honor.
