اليوم، ومع انتقال نشاطهم إلى خارج أوروبا ثم تزايد الضغوط بعد توقيع اتفاقيات تسليم مطلوبين، بدا أن سطوة الكارتل في تراجع. وتشير مصادر أمنية إلى أن كارتلات منافسة مثل ندرانغيتا الإيطالية و«كلان ديل غولفو» الكولومبية تجاوزت كيناهان في السيطرة على تجارة المخدرات في القارة العجوز.
أما الأب كريستي كيناهان (68 عامًا) الذي حاول إعادة اختراع نفسه مستشار طيران بريطاني تحت اسم «كريستوفر فنسنت»، فيُعتقد أنه يبحث عن ملاذ جديد في زيمبابوي، لكنه يظل محاصرًا بسمعة صنعها بنفسه: رجل أصبح كبيرًا لدرجة أنه لم يعد قادرًا على الاختباء.

Today, with their activities shifting outside of Europe and increasing pressure following the signing of extradition agreements, it seems the cartel's power is in decline.
