أصيب عارض أزياء أمريكي بجروح خطيرة في وجهه بعد تعرضه للطعن أثناء محاولته إنقاذ سيدتين من اعتداء على وسيلة نقل عامة في مدينة دريسدن الألمانية.
العارض جون رودات (21 عاماً)، كان في عطلة عندما تدخل لمنع الاعتداء على امرأتين، قبل أن يتعرض للطعن بسكين بطول 6 بوصات في وجهه، ما استدعى جراحة عاجلة.
رودات كشف من المستشفى أن المهاجم الرئيسي «مهاجر غير شرعي معروف لدى الشرطة كتاجر مخدرات»، متهماً السلطات الألمانية بالتساهل مع مثل هذه القضايا. وقال: «إذا كان يمكن إطلاق سراح أشخاص بعد ساعات من محاولتهم الاعتداء، فأين القانون؟ أين النظام؟»
بدورها، قالت الشرطة الألمانية إن المشتبه بهما مهاجران. أحدهما أُوقف بتهمة الاعتداء بالضرب وأُطلق سراحه لعدم وجود أدلة كافية على مشاركته في الطعن، فيما لا يزال المشتبه به الثاني فاراً.

وسرعان ما تفاعل متابعو الإنترنت مع الحادثة، إذ أُنشئت حملة تبرعات عبر الإنترنت لدعمه خلال فترة العلاج، وجمعت حتى الآن أكثر من 32 ألف دولار. ومن المتوقع أن يعود إلى الولايات المتحدة خلال أسبوعين ليستكمل رحلة التعافي الجسدي والنفسي بعد الحادثة التي فتحت من جديد ملف الهجرة والاندماج في ألمانيا.

Internet users quickly reacted to the incident, as an online fundraising campaign was created to support him during his recovery, raising over $32,000 so far. He is expected to return to the United States in two weeks to continue his physical and psychological recovery after the incident, which has reopened discussions on immigration and integration in Germany.
