شهد كرنفال نوتينغ هيل في لندن مشهداً صادماً يوم العائلة والأطفال، حيث اندلعت مشاجرة بين امرأتين في الشارع أمام المتفرجين المذهولين. وأظهر مقطع فيديو على «تيك توك» السيدتين تتبادلان الضرب والشد من الشعر وسط ازدحام الشارع، بينما حاول أصدقاؤهما فض الشجار مع استمرار الموسيقى في الخلفية.
يأتي هذا الشجار في وقت سجلت فيه الشرطة اعتقال 140 شخصاً خلال اليوم الأول من الكرنفال، بزيادة بنسبة 40% عن العام الماضي، حيث كان العدد 104 معتقلين. وشملت الاعتقالات 105 حالات داخل الكرنفال و35 على مداخل الحدث، منها 13 اعتقالاً باستخدام تقنية التعرف على الوجه الجديدة عبر كاميرات المراقبة المباشرة.
ومن بين الجرائم التي أسفرت عنها الاعتقالات: 15 حالة اعتداء على الشرطة، و21 حالة حيازة أسلحة هجومية، و25 حالة حيازة مخدرات خفيفة، و19 حالة حيازة مخدرات بقصد التوزيع، إلى جانب حالات سلب ومخالفات عامة.
وفي ختام اليوم، بدأت فرق النظافة إزالة أكثر من 300 طن من النفايات المتراكمة، بمشاركة أكثر من 180 عامل نظافة، و45 مركبة جمع نفايات لضمان عودة الشوارع إلى طبيعتها بحلول صباح غد (الثلاثاء).

This brawl comes at a time when police recorded the arrest of 140 people on the first day of the carnival, a 40% increase from last year, when the number was 104 arrests. The arrests included 105 cases within the carnival and 35 at the event's entrances, including 13 arrests using the new facial recognition technology via live surveillance cameras.
Among the crimes resulting from the arrests were: 15 cases of assault on police, 21 cases of possession of offensive weapons, 25 cases of possession of class B drugs, and 19 cases of possession of drugs with intent to supply, along with cases of robbery and general offenses.
At the end of the day, cleaning crews began removing over 300 tons of accumulated waste, with the participation of more than 180 cleaners and 45 waste collection vehicles to ensure the streets return to normal by tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
