انفجرت مقاتلة أمريكية من طراز «Hornet» أثناء محاولتها الإقلاع من مطار في ماليزيا، وفقاً لموقع «ستار» الإخباري، نقلاً عن بيان صادر عن القوات الجوية الملكية الماليزية.
وبحسب «ستار»، وقعت الحادثة الخميس، في مطار السلطان أحمد شاه بمدينة كوانتان في ولاية فهغ، مشيرة إلى أنه استنادا إلى مقطع فيديو انتشر على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، فإن المقاتلة انفجرت أثناء محاولتها الإقلاع. وأكدت «ستار» أن القوات الجوية الملكية الماليزية أكدت وقوع الحادثة.
وقالت القوات الجوية الماليزية: «نرغب في إعلامكم بحادثة مقاتلة F/A-18 Hornet التي وقعت في 21 أغسطس في مطار السلطان أحمد شاه في كوانتان. ونحن نتخذ الإجراءات اللازمة».
وأضافت الوكالة الحكومية الماليزية «برناما» نقلا عن رئيس شرطة ولاية فهغ، دا توك سري ياهيا عثمان، أن طياري المقاتلة كليهما نجيا من الحادثة.
An American fighter jet of the "Hornet" model exploded while attempting to take off from an airport in Malaysia, according to the "Star" news site, citing a statement from the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
According to "Star," the incident occurred on Thursday at Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport in Kuantan, Pahang state, noting that based on a video that circulated on social media, the fighter jet exploded during its takeoff attempt. "Star" confirmed that the Royal Malaysian Air Force acknowledged the occurrence of the incident.
The Malaysian Air Force stated: "We would like to inform you about the incident involving the F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet that occurred on August 21 at Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport in Kuantan. We are taking the necessary actions."
The Malaysian government agency "Bernama" added, citing the Chief of Police of Pahang, Dato' Sri Yahya Osman, that both pilots of the fighter jet survived the incident.
