شهد مطار مالبينسا الدولي شمال إيطاليا، أمس (الأربعاء)، حالة من الفوضى والذعر بعدما أقدم شاب مالي يبلغ من العمر 26 عامًا على إشعال النار داخل سلة مهملات في مبنى الركاب رقم 1، ما أدى إلى اندلاع حريق التهم بعض المكاتب.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام محلية، كان الشاب قد أثار الفوضى قبل الحادثة بدقائق حين بدأ بشتم موظفي المطار في منطقة تسجيل الوصول، ثم أخرج مطرقة وحطّم شاشات عرض الرحلات القادمة والمغادرة، قبل أن يشعل النيران.
سريعًا، تدخلت قوات الأمن التي نجحت في السيطرة على الموقف وإلقاء القبض على الجاني، فيما تمكنت فرق الإطفاء من إخماد الحريق. وأكدت السلطات أن الحادثة لم تسفر عن إصابات بين المسافرين أو العاملين، كما لم تتأثر حركة الطيران.
Malpensa International Airport in northern Italy experienced chaos and panic yesterday (Wednesday) after a 26-year-old Malian man set fire to a trash bin in Terminal 1, leading to a fire that engulfed some offices.
According to local media, the young man had caused a disturbance moments before the incident by shouting at airport staff in the check-in area, then took out a hammer and smashed the displays of arriving and departing flights before igniting the fire.
Quickly, security forces intervened, successfully controlling the situation and arresting the perpetrator, while firefighting teams managed to extinguish the blaze. Authorities confirmed that the incident did not result in any injuries among passengers or staff, nor did it affect flight operations.
