تمكنت القيادة العامة لشرطة دبي من إحباط جريمة سرقة ماسة وردية نادرة جداً على مستوى العالم، تبلغ قيمتها السوقية 25 مليون دولار، وتحمل شهادة نقاوة من أهم المعاهد العالمية التخصصية في فحص واعتماد الألماس، ونسبة إمكان الحصول على واحدة بمواصفاتها تصل إلى 0.01%، وذلك في عملية نوعية أطلقت عليها اسم «بينك دايموند».
وأعلنت شرطة دبي القبض على العصابة التي حاولت سرقة الماسة، والمكونة من 3 أشخاص من جنسية آسيوية، اعتمدوا في تنفيذ جريمتهم على مُخطط احترافي استمر العمل عليه على مدى أكثر من عام، وتضمن تخطيطاً دقيقاً في كيفية الوصول والتواصل مع مالك الماسة (تاجر ألماس)، واستدراجه.
وفي التفاصيل، أفادت شرطة دبي بأن التاجر جلب الماسة من دولة أوروبية إلى دبي، ووضعها في محل المجوهرات الخاص به لبيعها، فيما كان أفراد العصابة يُتابعون مراحل وصولها إلى التاجر، ثم خططوا لعملية سرقتها من خلال العمل على إقناعه بأنهم أثرياء، وأنهم يتواصلون معه كوسطاء من أجل شرائها لرجل ثري.
وأشارت شرطة دبي إلى أن أفراد العصابة رتبوا مواعيد عدة مع التاجر، وكانوا يظهرون أمامه وهم يستخدمون سيارات فارهة استأجروها لغرض خداعه وإيهامه بأنهم من طبقة ثرية، إلى جانب عقدهم لقاءات عدة معه في أفخم الفنادق، مُبينةً أن المظاهر الخداعة التي حرص أفراد العصابة عليها كان غرضها الوحيد استدراج التاجر لإخراج الماسة من محله وجلبها لهم بدعوى أنهم سيرتبون لقاء له مع الرجل الثري الذي سيشتريها منه.
وبينت شرطة دبي أن التاجر كان حريصاً على عدم إخراج الماسة من المحل لقيمتها الثمينة إلا أن أفراد العصابة كانوا يخططون لدفعه إلى إخراجها بأي طريقة وصولاً إلى قيامهم بجلب خبير عالمي معروف وشهير في عالم الألماس للتحقق من نوعيتها وعرضها عليه، وهو ما أسهم في دفع التاجر إلى الاقتناع برغبتهم الحقيقية في شراء الماسة بعد مشاهدته لهذا الخبير المعروف.
وأكدت شرطة دبي أن أفراد العصابة خدعوا التاجر فعلاً وأحضر الماسة إلى فيلا بدعوى عرضها على الرجل الثري لشرائها إلا أنهم استغلوا الفرصة وتمكنوا من الاستيلاء عليها، ثم هربوا وهي في حوزتهم.
وأضافت شرطة دبي أن التاجر قدم بلاغاً بتعرض الماسة الثمينة للسرقة، فعملت الإدارة العامة للتحريات والمباحث الجنائية على تشكيل فريق عمل لمتابعة تفاصيل العملية، واستطاعت من خلال برامجها وأنظمتها الذكية، وجهود الأفراد الميدانية التعرف على هوية أفراد العصابة.
وأضافت أن الإدارة العامة للتحريات والمباحث الجنائية استطاعت في ثماني ساعات عبر جهود فرق العمل الميدانية والتخصصية، وعبر استخدام أحدث تقنيات وأنظمة الذكاء الاصطناعي، إحباط جريمة السرقة التي خطط لها أفراد العصابة، ومعرفة أماكن وجود كل منهم والقبض عليهم.
وبينت أن الإدارة العامة للتحريات والمباحث الجنائية كشفت مُخطط العصابة في كيفية محاولة إخراج الماسة من الدولة عبر إخفائها في ثلاجة صغيرة وشحنها إلى دولة آسيوية باستخدام خدمات شحن البضائع.
The Dubai Police General Command succeeded in thwarting a theft of a very rare pink diamond, valued at 25 million dollars, which carries a purity certificate from the most important global specialized institutes for diamond testing and certification. The chance of obtaining one with its specifications is as low as 0.01%. This was part of a special operation dubbed "Pink Diamond."
The Dubai Police announced the arrest of the gang that attempted to steal the diamond, consisting of three individuals of Asian nationality. They relied on a professional plan that had been in the works for over a year, which included precise planning on how to reach and communicate with the diamond's owner (a diamond dealer) and lure him.
In detail, the Dubai Police reported that the dealer had brought the diamond from a European country to Dubai and placed it in his jewelry store for sale, while the gang members monitored its arrival to the dealer. They then planned the theft by convincing him that they were wealthy and that they were contacting him as intermediaries to buy it for a rich man.
The Dubai Police indicated that the gang members arranged several appointments with the dealer, presenting themselves in luxury cars they had rented to deceive him into believing they were from a wealthy class. They also held several meetings with him in the most luxurious hotels, emphasizing that the deceptive appearances they maintained were solely aimed at luring the dealer to take the diamond out of his store and bring it to them under the pretext that they would arrange a meeting for him with the wealthy man who would buy it from him.
The Dubai Police clarified that the dealer was keen not to take the diamond out of the store due to its high value; however, the gang members were planning to push him to extract it by any means, including bringing in a well-known global expert in the diamond field to verify its quality and present it to him. This contributed to convincing the dealer of their genuine desire to buy the diamond after he saw this renowned expert.
The Dubai Police confirmed that the gang members indeed deceived the dealer and brought the diamond to a villa under the pretext of showing it to the wealthy man for purchase. However, they seized the opportunity and managed to take it, then fled with it in their possession.
The Dubai Police added that the dealer filed a report about the theft of the precious diamond, prompting the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science to form a task force to follow up on the details of the operation. Through its programs and smart systems, along with the field efforts of individuals, they were able to identify the gang members.
Furthermore, the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science was able, within eight hours, through the efforts of specialized field teams and by using the latest technologies and artificial intelligence systems, to thwart the theft planned by the gang, identify the locations of each member, and arrest them.
It was revealed that the General Department of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science uncovered the gang's plan to attempt to smuggle the diamond out of the country by hiding it in a small refrigerator and shipping it to an Asian country using cargo shipping services.
