في حادثة صادمة هزّت بريطانيا.. فقد مارك أنتوني كيربي البالغ من العمر 34 عاماً حياته بعد أن عضّه عنكبوت سام اشتراه عبر الإنترنت قبل أسابيع قليلة فقط.. ووفق صحيفة «ديلي ميل» بدأت القصة عندما أصبح مارك مهووساً بالعناكب بعد أن كان يخشاها بشدة واشترى خمسة عناكب عبر الإنترنت منذ مدة وفقاً لإفادة شريكته كايلي جيل.
في رحلة إلى أسكتلندا بدأ يشعر بالتعب وأعراض تشبه الإنفلونزا لكنه ظل يحاول المزاح أثناء تناول الطعام في أحد المطاعم.. تدريجياً ازدادت الأعراض سوءاً من ارتفاع درجة الحرارة إلى ألم شديد في الأطراف حتى أصبح التنفس صعباً ما دفع شريكته كايلي لطلب الإسعاف.
وعلى الرغم من وصول المسعفين بسرعة لم يتمكنوا من إنقاذ حياته لتبقى وفاته غامضة، حيث لم يحدد تشريح الجثة السبب النهائي بعد لكن كايلي أكدت أن مارك أخبرها عن لدغة العنكبوت لكنه لم يذهب إلى المستشفى.

During a trip to Scotland, he began to feel fatigued and exhibited flu-like symptoms, but he continued to try to joke around while eating at a restaurant. Gradually, the symptoms worsened from a fever to severe pain in his limbs, until breathing became difficult, prompting his partner Kylie to call for an ambulance.
Despite the paramedics arriving quickly, they were unable to save his life, leaving his death shrouded in mystery. The autopsy has not yet determined the final cause, but Kylie confirmed that Mark told her about the spider bite, yet he did not go to the hospital.
