Leila Cunningham, an official at the organization "Reform UK," confronted the Mayor of London on the street with a series of questions: "Knife crimes have increased by 60% in just two years. Is there nothing being said about the rise in knife crimes? 81,000 phones have been stolen... doesn't that concern you?!"

Despite the jeers surrounding the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan ignored Leila Cunningham's questions and continued on, surrounded by several security personnel led by the Metropolitan Police Chief, Mark Rowley, which sparked a wave of criticism labeling the Mayor of London as aloof.

It is worth noting that Leila Cunningham, a Muslim politician and lawyer of Egyptian descent, recently defected from the Conservative Party and joined the Reform Party in the "Reform UK" organization. She has been nominated by the "Reform" Party to run in the London mayoral election in May 2028, making her the first Muslim woman of Arab descent to be nominated for this position in British history.

Leila was born in London to Egyptian immigrant parents who settled in the country in the 1960s, and she grew up in the British capital. She later graduated as a criminal lawyer before working as a prosecutor in the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), handling high-profile cases, including the prosecution of the perpetrator in the Buckingham Palace gates incident. However, she resigned from her position after announcing her joining the "Reform" Party in June 2025, due to a conflict with the political neutrality rules imposed on civil service employees.

In addition to her legal career, Leila is known as a mother of seven, an entrepreneur, and a community activist with considerable courage, especially after she pursued a group of thieves who targeted her children, earning her the title of "the vigilant mother." In recent years, she has also worked on initiatives to reduce crime and enhance community safety.

However, Leila's nomination by the "Reform" Party is not without controversy. The party, led by Nigel Farage and known for its hardline stance against immigration and criticism of Islam, is now presenting a Muslim woman of Arab descent as a prominent figure. Some see this as an attempt to beautify the party's image, while others view it as a sign of evolution in the party's mentality.

Leila appeared alongside Farage at the launch of his summer campaign against crime and received notable support within the party. According to close sources, some leaders of "Reform" see her as a strong candidate capable of making an electoral breakthrough, considering her a "moderate Muslim mother who speaks rationally and connects with diverse segments."
