ارتفعت حصيلة ضحايا الحريق الذي اندلع في مركز تجاري وسط مدينة الكوت جنوبي العاصمة العراقية بغداد، إلى أكثر من 60 قتيلاً.
وأعلن العميد مقداد ميري رئيس دائرة العلاقات والإعلام في وزارة الداخلية العراقية في مؤتمر صحفي اليوم، أن حصيلة ضحايا الحريق في مركز تجاري بمدينة الكوت مركز محافظة واسط، تجاوزت 60 شخصاً، فيما كشف أن المركز أنشئ بلا موافقات لمخالفته إجراءات السلامة.
ولفت ميري، إلى أن السلطات العراقية أمرت باستمرار التحقيق لمدة سبعة أيام لكشف المقصرين دون أي مجاملة، كما وجهت بإجراءات عاجلة بالتنسيق مع القضاء لمعالجة هذه المخالفات.
وشهدت مدينة الكوت، في وقت سابق اليوم، اندلاع حريق مروع داخل مركز تجاري كبير، أسفر عن مصرع نحو أكثر من 60 شخصاً حتى الآن، بينهم نساء وأطفال، وفقاً لمصدر في مديرية الدفاع المدني العراقية، فيما أعلنت الحكومة المحلية الحداد ثلاثة أيام على أرواح ضحايا الحريق.
The death toll from the fire that broke out in a shopping center in the city of Al-Kut, south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, has risen to more than 60 fatalities.
Brigadier Mukdad Miri, head of the Relations and Media Department at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, announced at a press conference today that the death toll from the fire in the shopping center in Al-Kut, the center of Wasit Province, has exceeded 60 people. He revealed that the center was established without approvals due to violations of safety procedures.
Miri pointed out that the Iraqi authorities have ordered the investigation to continue for seven days to identify those responsible without any favoritism, and have directed urgent measures in coordination with the judiciary to address these violations.
The city of Al-Kut witnessed a horrific fire earlier today inside a large shopping center, resulting in the deaths of more than 60 people so far, including women and children, according to a source in the Iraqi Civil Defense Directorate. Meanwhile, the local government declared three days of mourning for the souls of the fire victims.
